Arizona, no Nevada, inconclusive (again, no stance from the hotel worker's union, which won't come out until October) The map has Michigan as a lean Dem. Michigan is going blue. Georgia, might go red, but not by that margin. Ohio and Florida? hahahaha. That is a betting site, yes?
This is a fair assessment of where the race is. Biden is certainly in trouble and there is a very real chance that Trump could be headed towards victory. At this point, Biden's "only" hopes are that he can get the independents to break towards him at the end of the race and that the polls are wrong. The good news for Biden is that Trump and Republicans, in general, have polled much higher than the actual vote. But, yes, things are definitely looking dire for Biden based on the current polling.
It is not the New York Times' job to put their thumb on the scales!!!! What's up with you leftist people!!!
I hate that polls are again being taken seriously in a election 5 months away. I'd be concerned if it was September but we haven't even gotten to the conventions or Labor Day. That and too many polls are just off. That said, I'm cautious but optimistic, and given that a Michigan county, which hasn't been won by a Dem Presidential candidate since the Civil War literally just put in a Dem on a recall election should be telling. Same with the various special elections. Or at the very least raising questions. Plus, Dobbs since it happened.
Arizona polling; Gallego and Biden are close to each other, but Trump +16 percent more popular then Lake. Latinos, ok a Latino candidate would pull more Latinos than a non-Latino, so Gallego +7 on Biden among Latinos is understandable. But, 118 or so, of the Latinos polled liked Trump, many of them would vote for Trump but not for Lake. About 48 out of those 118. So 48 out of the 242 Hispanics in the sample are potential Gallego-Trump voters New CBS News Arizona pollPresident 🟥 Trump 52% 🟦 Biden 47%US Senate🟦 Gallego 49% 🟥 Lake 36%— umichvoter 🏳️🌈 (@umichvoter) May 19, 2024 Among Hispanics. In fairness, the pro-Palestine movement did bring it on themselves. The pro-Palestine protests would be easier to take seriously if they weren't shouting about walking away from Biden if he doesn't do what they say, doing things like showing up to two college regents homes in the early morning hours (Which did happen at U Mich, whether it was students or not but still), or if they weren't populated with Arabs who are low key social conservatives and are just looking for an excuse to vote GOP (And the last time they did, they had to realize that the GOP aren't their friends.) That said, coverage on Trump is bad, but the US media has been broken since he came down that escalator.
It's not just the media though. On this forum we had 20,000 posts about students being anti-semitic, yet that thread has not one single post about Trump's announcement of a fourth reich. The revealed preference is stark. As far as the polity goes lol. Will you see any strong rebuke from Israels leadership over trump's nazi plans? Will you fvck.
Trump was on KDKA and said some stupid word salad about a contraception policy he’s going to release within a week, it was so artless and dumb he had to disavow it within hours. His brain isn’t capable of faking it anymore. We just need to make sure people know what they’re voting for. I see that as the forum doing an admirable job of staying on topic!
Yeah of course. We need dozens of posts about some rando dude shouting genocidal rhetoric but when the next president of the US announces the succesor Reich to the holocaust guys - that's not on topic? It can't get more obvious. As I say, revealed preferences Too many people here only care about antisemitism if it's some lefty. if it's trump announcing a nazi state ... crickets. Sadly this forum has become a bit of a joke IMO.
There's like epic cognitive dissonance about what's coming IMO. I am not sure how many more Nazi hints Trump has to give.
He could say that he wants all the Jews killed, and people would still not believe him because he is pals with Bibi.
Jesus Christ, the only reason this is getting debated is there's lefties who might have voted Biden in 2020 and are screaming they won't over a situation he has little control over. And they're willing to hurt the gains Biden and the progressive cause has made since he's been elected. For God's sake, abortion and everything the US stands for is on the line and some are willing to throw it all away over a conflict that has little to do with the US population. There's plenty of threads about Trump. Whether it's this thread, his post-Presidency, or his trial, Trump shouts so many things that his rhetoric could fill the complete Calvin and Hobbes collection. And if we spent time pointing every little thing out, it'd be 2028 by then, and that's ignoring the other stuff he'd be saying or doing in the meantime. I think a lot of people are capable of walking and chewing gum at the same time. And even the Biden campaign has been selective about what to use. As for the antisemitism and bigotry: The right advertises their bigotry in neon, while the hard left is more subtle with theirs, something I've (And a couple others) mentioned before. If anything, the movement doesn't get the coverage it gets if it was just a few people standing somewhere. The problem is there's clowns like Rashida Tlaib screaming that she isn't going to vote for Biden because reasons (And she pulled this shit in 2020). I get it, it sucks that there's a war going on in a part of the world you probably have family in still, but she's cutting off her nose to spite her face. Then there's the actions some are doing. Too many people are doing stupid things to draw attention that normal people see and think, "This is happening under Biden" and that means they might start looking elsewhere. Which means Trump. Showing up to a college regent's house in the early morning hours for Palestine isn't a good look. And of course, there's a lot of people on here who don't want to admit that maybe the pro-Palestine movement has a potential antisemitism problem, or that Arab-Americans are incredibly socially conservative and are using Palestine as a cover to show their prejudices, and want to vote GOP, but people don't want to see that because they're minorities and maybe don't want to think that they're capable of prejudice (Heads up, they are). And when that's called out by even left leaning people, it reflexively gets defended without any nuance the same way Republicans defend tax cuts. The pro-Palestine movement could blow up a building and some (Including on this board) would be finding a way to defend them. You only say that because you don't like hearing something that may cause you to think otherwise about certain things. Palestine is that thing.
I thought your post referred to the threads dedicated to 10/7. If I was wrong about that, apologies. If I was right about that…see my previous statement.
Nikki Haley is endorsing Trump. I imagine there's Haley voters in the primaries out there who will probably vote Biden mainly because he's sane. And I hope the Biden campaign lures them. But not surprised. Honestly I should be betting on Republicans not showing a spine against Trump. https://www.cnn.com/2024/05/22/politics/nikki-haley-donald-trump/index.html
I am shocked....What a surprise (NOT). Nikki Haley said she’ll vote for Donald Trump over President Biden this fall, The Hill reports. Said Haley: “As a voter, I put my priorities on a president who’s going to have the backs of our allies and hold our enemies to account, who would secure the border, no more excuses. A president who would support capitalism and freedom, a president who understands we need less debt not more debt.” She added: “Trump has not been perfect on these policies. I’ve made that clear, many, many times. But Biden has been a catastrophe. So, I will be voting for Trump.”
