    thats a heartbreaker.

but our boys putting folks on notice. we are just one or two players away. lets see what the window brings...

plus, inter-messi is averaging 2.5 goals per game. our guys did an excellent job.

It's fine, by the time we get those one or two players, we'll have traded the other ones for allocation money.

Their 17th man is a youth designated player. Ours is Pirani. That'll happen.

I like that we're a pain in the ass to play against, though.

An unfortunate result. Suarez is such a whiny little shit. Lesesne has coached these guys up as well as their limited abilities permit. When your first defensive sub is Garrison Tubbs, you are speed skating on thin ice. When your last sub is Pirani and Miami's is Campana, you have summarized the utter mismanagement of this roster under Dumpster Diving Dave and his now, thankfully, gone cronies.

Pirani is frustrating but to be fair, CB was much closer to Busquets but applied no pressure and it was as excellent a 40 yd pass from the stripe as it was a goal.

Benteke was central, his purview was to stay central and put pressure on the center backs. Busquets was out right, the left wing should have been stepping to him...

Again, that we didn't already have a few goals at that point comes from our inability to put dangerous shots on net. Benteke never really got anything dangerous towards goal. Herrera and Stroud missed the target. Murrell couldn't pull the trigger or get a hard shot off. Dájome's effort wasn't dangerous. The Messis missed several of their good looks but in the end, they have more clinical finishing that we do. Even Benteke isn't all that clinical, despite his position in the golden boot race.

I'm disappointed but think we are building a foundation for future success. Talent evaluation is much better. Tactics are much better. There are some challenges to overcome, like figuring out how to keep from giving up late goals. Like which players to upgrade or spend time developing.

When I watched that clip, I think Boehm is Pirani-bashing without basis. The key to DCU's approach all night was clog the middle and keep the lines close - don't get spread out when defending. Pirani is playing exactly where he should be in that system. If he goes out to Busquets, it opens up the space behind him which pulls the other defenders out of shape. The culprit here, if there is one at all, is Tubbs, who just lost track of Campana for a second and Campana is a good enough player to see that and make a run that Tubbs can't cover. Also, the pass was from Busquets, you might expect such an inch perfect pass from Gil or Almada, but very few others in MLS. Sometimes a good play is just that.
