I think the reason why Vinicius hasn't really clicked as the best player in the world is because it's not by the same margin as it was during the Ronaldo/Messi era, I think we'll see a lot of individual awards go to whoever won the biggest trophy or had the most eye catching performances for the next few years.
We can work this Rodrygo on the left, Vinicius through the middle solution with Mbappe as well, I think the experiment will pay off big in the future.
Love this video. Got me emotional. Best video I’ve seen today, Vini’s mentality and leadership when we scored the first woww pic.twitter.com/vx7dsoephi— Faysal (@elfayz_) May 15, 2024
Love this kid man! And what he did to Kimmich all night … as if he isn’t one of the best right backs of his generation or anything, outrageous.
I love R9. I think injuries and poor club choices dented his longevity and legacy. He would be top 10 easily with more club level achievements.
In most rankings of greatest ever players he barely scraps the top 10. As an example, CR7 less talented but has had a tremendous career , injury free and had joined big clubs at the right time. These things affect legacy. Again, I love R9 and think he was seriously unlucky.
This is great. Thanks for sharing. What a great young man. People make fun of the Benzema thing but what happened since then, Vinicius didn't throw a tantrum or ask for a transfer or get depressed or turned Benzema into the enemy, he got busy getting better and then who ended up being the biggest influence on his game................... Benzema, who turned into and still is one of his biggest supporters. You can see shades of Benzema's game in him when he runs in from the left, the way he looks for his teammates, it's like Benzema used to do. What a story Vinicius has written so far, from being bitten on the head by that psycho Atleti player to now a favorite for the Balon Dor. Hard work and humility stays undefeated.
The ability to accept criticism and to use it to improve is an amazing superpower. Vinicius could 100% have played the victim when Karim spoke about him. Wouldn’t have done him much good though. I come across lots of trainees and the best ones are always those that don’t take criticism personally. They don’t always agree with it, but always listen and reflect. You look at them five years down the line and they have ironed out all the weaknesses.
But Vini wasn’t even that bad. He was timid and mistake prone and you could tell he was playing to not make mistakes. He’s had 3 coaches, only played like that under one
Great input. Nothing annoys me more in coaching than hearing "yes i know". If you knew i wouldn't need to tell you. Dummy.
They might not be dummies - you might just be a really good coach. I had a martial arts trainer and every single thing he said, I felt it was so basic that I knew it already. (I never told him that obviously, but everything he said, I understood immediately). But I wasn’t some genius martial artist - he was just a fantastic communicator who made complex things seem simple. I suspect it’s the same with your kids. They “know it already” because you’ve explained it to them in a way that they get immediately. Anyone who has ever tried to teach a four year old how to add basic numbers together will know that teaching basic principles to people is actually very hard unless you know what you’re doing.
This video is brilliant: Thank You Ancelotti ,for giving us our new Ballon d’Or player..what a turnaround, getting criticised from all over the world to be The best player in the world. The best thing for vini is, In 90 minutes ,ne never stop trying , dribbling twisting turning , relentlessly going… pic.twitter.com/OAiVwpZMfq— M I Mubin🇨🇦 (@MahmudulMubin44) May 16, 2024
For me this concept is stupid. People need to understand that Vinicius needed time to grow and for the game to slow down. Expecting him to play this way 5 years ago is foolishness. All those experiences, all of the trial and error led to him growing to be the player he is today. Instead of condemning previous players and manager for harming him (which they didn't), you should praise them (and Ancelotti) for building him to be what he is today. This isn't black/white so I know this concept will evade the majority who need an "evil" side the blame and a "good" side to praise.
I don't think the video should be taken seriously, for fans like us. It is not factually correct, but I like how it depicted Vini's uprise and how he has now become a dominant force to be reckoned with. It ended on a positive and very high note, that's all I ultimately care about.
🗣️ Vini Jr.: “R9 always calls me and gives me advice, he teaches me so many things. Since he told me that his favorite thing is a 1v1 vs a GK, I thought about it a lot and started working on it really hard. Now, everytime I'm in a 1v1 with a GK, I'm the calmest guy in the world.… pic.twitter.com/CwS9WSomZH— Madrid Zone (@theMadridZone) May 22, 2024
Interesting, makes sense to me, i've always thought the best player i've ever seen 1v1 with the keeper is R9
True. He needed time. I'll never forget the interview he had the year Madrid won in 2022. He was asked why he is balling all of a sudden, what's he doing this year that he wasn't doing the year prior etc. He just replied "I was just a kid" with a smile. I loved that. He just needed time to work on himself and he was playing his level which was scrutinised because of playing for Real, a high pressure environment. People missed that but was happy to learn he wasn't hard on himself.
When you are coming at the keeper at such high speeds like R9 and Vini, it just makes sense alot of the time.
Yeah and this is what makes fan suck. What they can't produce they expect others to. He was a teenager and you're expecting him to have the balance, strength, maturity and skill experience of a world class veteran. These things take time. It's natural... normal. It's why I literally never ever like discussions about NFL. I can't even imagine how someone like Kroos would feel reading our uninformed (and ignorant) assumptions lol.
It certainly looked it, thought when he played he was the best i'd ever seen do it and i still think that to this day
It's also why i've never bought into the ZZ didn't know how to get the best out of him but Carlo did and saved him narrative, i love both Carlo and ZZ as coaches but Vin just grew and learned with time, it's as simple as that for me, this pitching one coach against the other when it comes to his development never made sense to me
