looks like 1st team promotion to 2BL is actually more of a negative than +. They axed their II team in 2018 and seems like chances for inexperienced players in the 1st team will be harder to get. U19 players no longer eligible are either leaving the club or being loaned out to lower levels.
Got a call up to the U20MNT....looks like it went well for him. http://americansoccernow.com/articl...teams-yield-solid-results-in-september-window
Scores: Ian Hoffmann scored for Karlsruher today in u19 BL action. pic.twitter.com/rUt0NdWcfW— Daniel (@DanielSmith1022) September 21, 2019
scored his 3rd of the season in a 2-0 win over FCK, he scored the 2nd. Now leads the team as top scorer. will be curious to see where he ends up in Summer.
Karlsruher 1st team used 6 U19 players in friendlies this International break and no Hoffmann. Unfit, left out, or was he with USA (no idea if he was or wasn't)? he scored on Nov 13, the winning goal in a 2-0 win in some minor Cup which made Karlsruher advance to the next round. https://abseits-ka.de/73088/ksc1/ksc-u19-besiegt-walldorf-ii-und-zieht-in-naechste-pokalrunde-ein/
so called up to USA U20 while the Karlsruher 1st team called up 2 U19 players. And as mentioned before Karlsruher hasn't played much youth since their 2BL promotion and dumping players on loan this Winter and they don't have a II team too.
Yes, he scored one of the goals in a 2-2 draw with Mexico. Nathaniel Harriel scored the other. Cole Bassett scored both goals against Mexico in a 2-0 win in the the first game.
scored his 4th yesterday in a 2-2 draw vs Stuttgart U19. He scored the equalizer to make it 2-2 in 88th min.
Already a 01 midfielder signed a pro contract today and him and another were in the 1st team matchday squad recently. The other one who was in 1st team recently a few times isn't even one of the players listed below as well. There is no II team, so his future will be decided this Summer. but based on current things, seems unlikely for young Hoffmann. “I would like to do that before the end of the season. We are in negotiations, "Kreuzer told this newspaper on Monday about the state of play. Midfielder David Trivunic (18) from the U19 signed a professional contract that runs until 2022. Previously, right-back Jannis Rabold (19) had already accepted the same offer from Kreuzers, which meant that with the two U19 juniors, Malik Batmaz (who returned from VfB's U23) 20) and Dominik Kother (20) have identified the four necessary “local players” for the next season. https://bnn.de/nachrichten/sport/ksc/der-ksc-hakt-derbysieg-ab-und-bindet-das-naechste-talent
Another update, more +. According to Oliver Kreuzer, Sport Director of KSC, Marlon Dinger and Ian Hoffmann from Zlatan Bajramovic's U19s are also in view. https://bnn.de/nachrichten/sport/ksc/war-es-das-fuer-den-operierten-hanek-beim-ksc Since one guy was signed to pro contract and will also get integration according to them, he also made 1st team bench recently. Than another is headed to pro contract based on post above. Which then leaves these Dinger and Hoffmann. Dinger made the 1st team bench recently a couple of times. So far Hoffmann seems to be the one who isn't that close to 1st team. Did going to US YNT camp over 1st team Winter Camp made him go down pecking order? I'm not sure I trust Karlsruher to promote 4 U19 players which seems to be the indication+ fully integrating 2 99s and 2 00s. Seems a bit much, one of the 99s is easy since he's on loan to 3rd Liga and starter LB. And another 00 is currently being integrated into 1st team and he's a W. sounds to me like if he is committed (which isn't certain mind you) he could end up on loan to lower level. Maybe more prospects if they get relegation to 3rd Liga.
lol huh. IDK why he'd sign here. I guess because of Tab but still, our organization is a joke. Poor kid.
I think it was coming, don't think he was getting a pro contract at Karlsruher. They already gave a 2 pro contracts, one to a midfielder and another to a RB and that's 2 position that Hoffmann plays and he was down the pecking order for pro contracts too. Seems more likely would have ended up in RL had he stayed in Germany. after Goggel (who went to Harvard) that's the 2nd American-German who returns home to USA.
I'm sure both guys might've liked to have had a clear path to Bundesliga soccer in 2020/21 but failing that, these seem like pragmatic and straightforward choices, particularly since they both have spent large chunks of their lives in the U.S. so there's comparatively little personal adjustment. Hoffmann gets a pro deal with a coach who has done pretty well with young Americans lately and Goeggel ends up at a university some consider the Miami University of the East.
It is a mess but having Tab at the helm with hopefully turn things around. He will put on emphasis on youth so I'd expect a youth movement.
An assist: 🇳🇴 OBOS-ligaen🧐 looks like 21 yr old former 🇺🇸YNT LB Ian Hoffmann assisted on Moss FK's only goal in a 4-1 road loss to Kristiansund in Norway's 2nd tier today 🅰️2nd professional assist of his career according to transfermarkt (1st was in USL)https://t.co/oq8ooIEpaC pic.twitter.com/KSgJJYRwBc— 🇺🇸 ⚽ east (@eastdeflection) June 11, 2023

@dark knight @bungadiri @TheFalseNine Can we get a title change? Something along the lines of "Ian Hoffman at Moss FK in Norway"?
