MIA has one win and 4 losses in their last 5 games, the one win coming at home vs NSH. MIA has a USOC game in Birmingham on Wednesday night before coming to Foxboro. Of course, MIA beat the Revs May 13th, 2-1. Revs beat MIA 2-0 in their last visit to Foxboro, April 2022. Season will be half over after this match.
I remember the Revs had a big-time performance after Jermaine Jones was signed (even though Jones didn't play). Might see that from MIA, as BBC reporting Messi is all but official now: Lionel Messi to join Inter Miami after leaving PSG bbc.com By Guillem Balague Spanish football writer
Wow! I love Messi and I'm going to hate seeing him with one of our rivals, but I probably would hate to see him go to Saudi even more. After yesterday's PGA fiasco, it would be good to see some rejection coming SA's way. And, fortunately we're getting our MIA games done before he can arrive, but OTOH, it deprives the Revs/Gillette/MLS of a potentially massive crowd (at least for this season).
Wow. Who will become the Miami coach? If they want to provide Messi consistency, Gualtier is available...
I'd really like to see MLS relax the salary cap now. And I know he'll be an opponent but I hope that Miami is allowed to surround Messi with some decent talent. It's time for MLS to take the next step. Deeper rosters for all teams would certainly help.
And here I was happy Miami had already failed to establish a "sack the manager" bump...and now we have to deal with a "we signed the GOAT" bump. I guess it's better, in a competitive sense, than having to play against Messi himself. But I also agree it's a shame we won't play against him this season. I think it's fair to say we'll be selling out Gillette for at least one home game next year... What a massive moment for the league!
We might get him for a playoff game. This is MLS after all - Miami still has a decent chance of qualifying.
Supposedly one of Messi's conditions is that Sergio Busquets joins him in Miami. I think it may have the opposite effect, since the move is still well off. Players may be motivated to make sure they are part of the post-July picture, but how can an interim coach establish much, with everyone knowing that so much will be changing over the next month and a half? Could happen, but for a road game, I think this one is our's to lose. Would be a recognition on the cluelessness of many, but I agree with you. He's the odds-on favorite, from what I hear. And, he said he's very interested in returning to MLS, so I think it's better than 50/50.
Worse, he'd have to play in Yankee stadium. How may fake turf facilities are left? Us, Vancouver, Atlanta, Seattle and Portland? Is that it?
Just saw a tweet from one of the guys who covers the team - 35,000 expected. A very underreported development is the job the ticket office has been doing.
I'm fine with Gillette not being full of Miami Messi poseurs. I was annoyed with the Beckham ones. I had to bleat at them all night, making the sheep noises.
This is the Revs last game with Miami this year, barring a playoff or Leagues Cup match falling that way. The Galaxy didn't make the playoffs in 2007 when Beckham joined. To think that was the 12th year of MLS, and was now 16 years ago. I feel old...

We're doomed now! Good thing we have Jozy! Meanwhile, Miami signs Messi. Why cant we get any help Arena? Do your job!!!
Not like the Revs would spend any money and if the did, they would waste it on overage people that cant play anymore (Jozy, Omar, Sweat...)
A game we were expected to win...and we delivered. Bou and Wood looked good up front together. That 3rd goal was a funny one. They made the exact same run, which is never ideal, but then Bou was smart enough to get out of Wood's way (twice), and then Wood finished nicely. Bou in general was excellent. He looked as mobile as I've seen him in a while, and he brings a level of quality we really lack without him. Awesome first half from Jones. He was electric. Oh yeah...Gil. It's easy to forget to mention him because he's so consistently incredible, but wow. The pass to Polster before the penalty, the pass to Wood on the 3rd goal... just really special stuff. I sometimes have to remind myself what a privilege it is to have him here. It's nice when we're winning by a wide enough margin that Farrell's ridiculousness is bemusing rather than infuriating. That said, it sure we be cool if he would cut it out. It's like he's losing a step, and instead of making up for it with his veteran wisdom, he's trying to overcompensate with over-the-top last-second interventions. He's got to get to the point where he can accept not making a play on a ball that's simply out of his reach. And Vrioni...kind of tough to know what to think. He rarely looks good, but as folks have mentioned, we always seem to be chasing the game when he's in there, even when we're winning. Is part of that on him? Does he lack Bou's capacity for finding the right spaces to link up with Gil? Or is it just bad luck? In any case, it sure would be great to see him start clicking. Nice to finally get a win! And against the most-famous sports franchise in North America, too! (Is there a chance that's actually true, or about to be true? Pretty crazy the divide between Inter Miami "the brand" and Inter Miami "the team.")
