🚨 Bayern Munich would still like to sign Declan Rice but they know his preference is Arsenal. He’s staying in England! 🏴(Source: Sky Sports Germany) pic.twitter.com/c3oDxHqgg3— Transfer News Live (@DeadlineDayLive) June 10, 2023
According to the Times Kane favours staying in the PL rather than moving to Real Madrid or Bayern Munich ut equally Spurs don’t seem keen on selling him this summer.
It’s seen as unlikely that Man United will be able to afford him because they also need to buy in other positions.
Clear by the Cl Final line up that Walker is not fully fit. If he gets on as a sub then he will be fit enough for England but if he doesn’t I would think we will hear that he has withdrawn (Probably without replacement.)
In which case I do wonder if he will stay this summer or take the options of abroad or Sheffield United that have been rumoured.
https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/22648711/mason-greenwood-man-utd-ten-hag-squad/ According to the Sun Ten Hag and the majority of the Man United squad want to bring Mason Greenwood back but the club are very worried about how feasible that is.
It’s interesting that Southgate is giving the players in finals more time off when Kehrer won the Conference Leagues on Wednesday and is now with the German squad ready for friendlies. Meanwhile on Friday Southgate will likely have a quite reduced bench for a qualifier.
If they tried to bring him back straight away they'd almost certainly end up reversing the decision within a week, they'd be insane to try it. I'd imagine he'll end up on loan to assess how he even does, more than likely he will never reach his potential anyway.
Through even then they would have to make sure whatever club hired them didn’t face the same backlash. I’m not entirely sure clubs in Italy or Spain would be controversy free and things could become quite unpredictable.
I agree but His error in the Nations League and then his 18 months out of the national side still casts a shadow.
Rio was banned for 8 months after missing a drugs test and Bobby Moore's error in Poland cost us a place at the World Cup in 1974. That's football. Stones is probably not in their class just yet, but if he continues to play like this for another 3 or 4 years, then we might be talking differently. He's been immense this season.
Congratulations to our #ThreeLions at @ManCity on winning the @ChampionsLeague and completing a memorable treble! 👏 https://t.co/7m9GAHiTbH— England (@England) June 10, 2023
6/6 - John Stones completed all six of his attempted dribbles against Internazionale (100%); the last player to complete more than that in a UEFA Champions League final was Lionel Messi in 2015 (10 v Juventus). Total. #UCLFinal pic.twitter.com/BYXf2kHZEQ— OptaJoe (@OptaJoe) June 10, 2023
On radio 5 earlier, heard Guillem Balague (his biographer) predict that Pep Guardiola will want to manage a national team after Manchester City - and that he would like to be Gareth Southgate's successor for England!https://t.co/qWIH8gbW8W— Sunder Katwala (@sundersays) June 10, 2023 Pep would be an interesting choice to succeed Southgate. It’s only really us, Portugal, Belgium and Brazil of the big international teams who I think would hire him. Maybe the Netherlands as well. His political views mean he won’t be hired by Spain and I don’t see Italy, France or Germany going non native anytime soon.
I think he's not there yet, but has every opportunity to make it in the coming years. He's cut out the mistakes, and become a top performer, but needs a few more seasons at this level to join the top tier. I'd also add Neil Franklin and Roy McFarland to that group.
Roy McFarland wasn't even the best English centre half at his club, and neither he nor Colin Todd paticularly excelled for the national team.
