Cheech done for the season: https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/la-g...ito-suffers-knee-injury-in-us-open-cup-defeat He contributed 1 goal and 1 assist this season. it's time to buy out his contract like we did with Dos Santos.
Can buy him out in mid-season. Point is he's done as a contributor, Zero chances he will perform better in 2024. He might gracefully retire in the winter.
That was awful to see, and a terrible way to end a career. I apologize if you feel like I am pouring on, but I was really sad to see him go down like that.
Not pouring on at all. A lot of us appreciate Chich. Even if you don't, never want to see a player possibly have things end like that.
He is old soccer man now, injury-prone, it was coming. He gave us what he could, no doubts about that, but his time is up, we must move on.
I feel for him, he's a very likeable guy and I will never question his commitment. If he wants to come back, wherever it is (but more probably in Liga MX), I hope he can achieve his goal. That said, his overall Galaxy career probably ends between "good" and "mixed". Not among our worst DPs for sure, but not among the best.
Bummer for Cheech, But ******** Mike Magee! That ********ing ********er always ********ing scored on RSL every ********ing time!!!! ********!!!! Man! Didn't realize I'd been holding that in all these years. (If he ever changes his avatar, understand LEM-LEG's avatar is a Magee jersey)
Chicharito had some word for RSL after the match. "Quiero agradecer a toda la gente del Realt Salt Lake que ayudaron a que pudiera salir bien del campo y que me estuvieron atendiendo después y también a toda la gente en el estadio, los escuché, gracias por aplaudir y desearme lo mejor cuando salí. Tengo una lesión en la rodilla, vamos a ver qué tan grave es en los próximos días. Esperemos no sea tan grave” I want to thank all the people of Real Salt Lake that helped me off the field and helped attend to me afterward and also all the people in the stadium, I heard you, thank you for clapping and wishing me well when I exited. I have a knee injury, we will see how bad it is in the next few days.
So, it's time to ask the question... What, if anything, did the never to be sufficiently damned plastic pitch have to do with this? And when, if ever, is MLS going to enforce their original "grass fields only" policy?
