Saudi vs MLS vs China which is most pathetic league. they are all desperate to draw in Euro players to their shitty league. MLS used to be retirement home for Euro stars now Saudi has become the new home for such players.
according to all reports, Messi not going back to Barcelona nor Saudi Arabia but going to MLS. this marks the end of Messi in Europe and the end of the Messi and Ronaldo Europe domination....FINALLY!!!!
GOOD RIDDANCE TO BOTH!!! 🚨 The Ronaldo-Messi era is officially OVER. Messi in MLS 🇺🇸 Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 End of an era. 💔 pic.twitter.com/sS8chTbe4R— Football Tweet ⚽ (@Football__Tweet) June 7, 2023
Both are great players and their place in the Pantheon of the all-time Greats is beyond doubt, but I must admit I'm glad they're both out of Europe because from now on everyone can finally stop talking about them both.
Very true. Saudi the newest retirement league. Had to laugh at this. i decided to start my (professional) football career again & looking for a club in the saudi arabian league!!— Sidney Friede (@ewekasidney) June 6, 2023
End of an era for all the 80s and 90s folks who enjoyed the path breaking era of Ronaldo and Messi. By 2023 most of the legends of this era have left Europe, from Benzema, Suarez, Aguero, Ramos, Busquets, Marcelo, Pique, Bale & several others. Probably the best era to follow… pic.twitter.com/Io0jvNleUQ— Ashish (@RMadridEngineer) June 7, 2023 as a 90s kid, I miss the era of the 90s+early 2000s. don't care about the Messi, Ronaldo, Aguero, Ramos, Xavi, Iniesta etc clown show era.
🚨 𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟: Emerson Palmeiri becomes the first player in history to win all five of UEFA's competitions:🏆 Champions League ✅🏆 Europa League ✅🏆 UEFA Conference League ✅🏆 UEFA Super Cup ✅🏆 EURO 2020 ✅ pic.twitter.com/FQpfLHakDp— Football Tweet ⚽ (@Football__Tweet) June 7, 2023
All five of UEFA's ACTIVE competitions. Two UEFA competitions were abolished: the Intertoto Cup which nobody ever cared about, and Cup Winners' Cup.
I hate Messi coming to Inter Miami. I have never been a fan of the MLS - it's absolute fucking shit. But my step son loves the game and i do too, and we live 20 min away from the DRV Pink Stadium, so we became fans of our "local" club. I could get tickets for $25...now, they are $165 and up. I guess we will probably not be going to the stadium nearly as much anymore. Totally sucks!!!
Must say I do miss the old cups they were good competitions, European cup only for winners of they leagues cup Winner cup for winners of their countries cup Uefa cup for clubs that finished 2nd 3rd and top leagues would get a 4th place Even the uefa cup was strong competition full of top teams
Uruguay U20 have reached the U20 WC Final. Always find them to be fascinating, 3.4M people and seem to a be force in past 15 years. with no more Suarez, Cavani, Forlan etc, will be curious to see how they replace them. also the German-Uruguayan 03 AM Cabrera was a contender for this WC but was left out. Not surprising plays in Germany's 5th division with Ingolstadt II. Maybe if he goes pro in future, he'll be in consideration. hopefully we get Italy U20 vs Uruguay U20 final match. yes I have a soft spot for Italy even if our main rivals, mostly due to growing up in 90s-00s and watching all the Serie A stars back when Serie A was seen as best league in Europe. and I do welcome, Italy gaining strengh and making a comeback in Senior NT as a contender. Its more fun when both Germany and Italy perform. we trashed Italy in NL but it felt it was a weak Italy. Of course I would have loved to have given them biggest ever Loss at our hands and sooooo close but outside of an almost record, it felt empty win.....
haha, Intertoto Cup, such rubbish. don't think I ever watched Cup Winners' Cup while growing up. I only ever watched CL.
I loved the Cup Winner's Cup...probably because I was drawn to the name. "Cup Winners Cup". I liked the sound of it. Fun fact; Real Madrid never won it while Barca have won it the most with 4 titles plus 2 runner's up medals. Werder, HSV, Bayern and Dortmund are all German clubs that have won it. 1860, VfB and Fortuna Düsseldorf all made it as runners up.
I must say it really irritates me that the record winners for each and every one of UEFA's tournaments are all Spanish: - UEFA Cup/Europa League: Sevilla. - Cup Winners' Cup: Barcelona. - European Cup/Champions League: Real Madrid. Regarding the Europa League, I know the financial rewards for winning it aren't much, but I very much want BVB to win it because it's one of two trophies left to complete the international trophy set.
what a FK by 2006 Pafundi of Italy U20 to win the match 2-1 and for Italy to advance to U20 WC final. Pafundi is one of those hyped up Italian Youth. https://streamja.com/g1ayv
The old East German sides also did very well. 1.FC Magdeburg won it in 1974 beating AC Milan in the final. Carl Zeiss Jena (1981) and Lokomotiv Leipzig (1987) were runners up
I want to jinx it, because I want them to do something. Otherwise its one of most pathetic rivalries of all time, LOL. More embarrassing was missing Euro 2016 (cough extended tourney cough) and WC18, back to back. I do miss the 2000s-2014 era tbh. Maybe the Dutch could have went far in 2004 and 2006 if not for that they bombed both times vs Portugal. And should have won WC10 too...
LOL, 4-2 L for the Dutch. I'm curious to what Croatia looks like once Perisic and Modric retire. I find it interesting all of these players across Europe who continue playing NT 36, 37, 38, etc and we have players who retire 31, 32, 33, LOL.
It was an unofficial tournament that wasn't organized by UEFA, therefore those titles are not recognized.
