they are all desperate to draw in Euro players to their shitty league. MLS used to be retirement home for Euro stars now Saudi has become the new home for such players.

 

according to all reports, Messi not going back to Barcelona nor Saudi Arabia but going to MLS.

this marks the end of Messi in Europe and the end of the Messi and Ronaldo Europe domination....FINALLY!!!!

Both are great players and their place in the Pantheon of the all-time Greats is beyond doubt, but I must admit I'm glad they're both out of Europe because from now on everyone can finally stop talking about them both.

as a 90s kid, I miss the era of the 90s+early 2000s.

don't care about the Messi, Ronaldo, Aguero, Ramos, Xavi, Iniesta etc clown show era.

All five of UEFA's ACTIVE competitions. Two UEFA competitions were abolished: the Intertoto Cup which nobody ever cared about, and Cup Winners' Cup.

 

Must say I do miss the old cups they were good competitions,
European cup only for winners of they leagues
cup Winner cup for winners of their countries cup
Uefa cup for clubs that finished 2nd 3rd and top leagues would get a 4th place
Even the uefa cup was strong competition full of top teams

 

Uruguay U20 have reached the U20 WC Final.
Always find them to be fascinating, 3.4M people and seem to a be force in past 15 years.

with no more Suarez, Cavani, Forlan etc, will be curious to see how they replace them.

also the German-Uruguayan 03 AM Cabrera was a contender for this WC but was left out. Not surprising plays in Germany's 5th division with Ingolstadt II. Maybe if he goes pro in future, he'll be in consideration.

hopefully we get Italy U20 vs Uruguay U20 final match.
yes I have a soft spot for Italy even if our main rivals, mostly due to growing up in 90s-00s and watching all the Serie A stars back when Serie A was seen as best league in Europe.

and I do welcome, Italy gaining strengh and making a comeback in Senior NT as a contender. Its more fun when both Germany and Italy perform.

we trashed Italy in NL but it felt it was a weak Italy. Of course I would have loved to have given them biggest ever Loss at our hands and sooooo close but outside of an almost record, it felt empty win.....

I must say it really irritates me that the record winners for each and every one of UEFA's tournaments are all Spanish:

- UEFA Cup/Europa League: Sevilla.
- Cup Winners' Cup: Barcelona.
- European Cup/Champions League: Real Madrid.

Regarding the Europa League, I know the financial rewards for winning it aren't much, but I very much want BVB to win it because it's one of two trophies left to complete the international trophy set.

I do miss the 2000s-2014 era tbh. Maybe the Dutch could have went far in 2004 and 2006 if not for that they bombed both times vs Portugal. And should have won WC10 too...

I find it interesting all of these players across Europe who continue playing NT 36, 37, 38, etc and we have players who retire 31, 32, 33, LOL.
