The first team really struggles at the moment. Next up is Thailand, who lost 1-3 vs Syria

    AFC Nations Ecosystem Ranking

    https://kassiesa.net/uefa/forum2/viewtopic.php?t=6034

I carried out some extensive research on the AFC nations and about where their programs stand right now. Here are the results:

    It's important to know that

my grading system refers from 1 (lowest grade possible) to 10 (highest grade possible).

NT form = national team form since the 2019 Asian Cup. Other than the Asian Cup, the World Cup qualifiers, the World Cup itself, the Gulf Cup, the AFF Championship and the Arab Cup 2021 are considered. Also friendlies for the lesser ranked nations who play less competitive matches.
The weighting for "NT form" was 50%

Youth = youth reusults in the last decade (last 8-10 years). Competitions taken into account include the U23 Asian Cup, U20 Asian Cup and the Asian Games as it's an U23 competition plus only three overage players. U17 results were not considered. A rating system was adopted to hand out points for a nation's final position in the final standings of each competition taken into account.
The weighting for "youth" was 20%.

Pedigree refers to a national team's results in the most important competitions since 2004 i.e. five World Cup cycles and five Asian Cup cycles are considered. Again competitions like the Gulf Cup and the AFF Champinship were taken into account. The weighting for "pedigree" was 20%

Club success refers to a league's results in the two highest tier Asian club competitions i.e. AFC CL and AFC Cup since the 2016/2017 season. A rating system was developed in order to calculate a league's performance. Since the gap between first and second tier competition is big (probably bigger than in UEFA) my point system rewarded i.e. a quarterfinal run in the AFC CL more than winning the AFC Cup. The weighting for "club success" was only 10%.

If two nations have the same overall grade the nation ranks first that has a better "NT form".

IMO the highest ranked 17 nations can eye a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Remember that with the expansion to 48 teams the AFC has 8+1 sposts for the World Cup. I think it will be an absolute dogfight for the last three four spots behind the usual suspects Japan, South Korea, Australia, Iran and Saudi Arabia.

How did Shabab Al Ali already win the title if there's still one more round to play and they're only 3 points ahead of the 2nd place team? I take it head-to-head is the tie breaker and not goal difference then?

No since they failed to win the cup and should've finished 2nd at least in the league performance wise they have improved if Ali Saleh improves his finishing he will become the best player in the league.

Also this season the level of the teams was so close from. 1st to 7th what helped Shabab Al Ahli is that they have many loaned players to teams like Ajman, Kalba, Khorfakkan, Al Nasr, Al Bataeh, so when they face them those teams play a different starting XI

Hmm true, but this is the first time in quite a few years that Al Wasl has stayed close to the title.
And with arrivals such as Gimenez y'all can build on this next year.
    Also is Pizzi leaving?

yes Pizzi left Al Wasl already and Miloš Milojević was appointed, Omar Abdulrahman might be leaving Ittihad Kalba interested in signing him tbh his and Ahmed Khalil career went downhill only Ali Mabkhot managed to stay consistent from that generation

UAE FA seeks new president and coach as Sheikh Rashid resigns and Arruabarrena departs
    • News of Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi's departure comes less than 24 hours after the draw for 2023 Asian Cup in Doha
The national team, semi-finalists in 2015 and then 2019 as hosts, will also have to appoint a new manager after the decision was taken not to extend Rodolfo Arruabarrena’s contract beyond its current deal. The Argentine’s agreement, announced in February last year, was to run through until this July – when the Asian Cup was initially to finish. Arruabarrena’s departure was on good terms. Appointed towards the end of qualification for the 2022 World Cup, the former Al Wasl and Shabab Al Ahli manager guided the UAE through to the play-offs for the Qatar finals, where they lost to Australia. In January, the UAE contested the Gulf Cup of Nations, but exited the tournament at the group stage.

The UAE represented Arruabarrena’s first experience of international management. He is expected to return to club football, with potential opportunities arising in the region, Europe and South America.

Not good timing but could see this coming, UAE is in dire need of playing some friendlies, they didn't even schedule anything in the June window. Who do you think they should hire?
    An Emirati or someone foreign?

They appointed Korea's former coach Paulo Bento two days ago, hopefully friendlies on the next FIFA days which will be on 4th and 12th of September 2023

The UAE Football Association said an official agreement has been reached with Portugal's Paulo Bento to become the new national team coach. This was announced at a news conference today at the UAEFA premises in Dubai in the presence of the new head coach, and Mohamed Hazzam Al Dhaheri, the UAEFA Secretary General. The former Korean national football head coach boasts considerable experience in Asia, having led Korea in the 2023 World Cup round of 16 for the first time in 12 years; and won the 2019 East Asian Football Federation (EAFF) E-1 Championship (East Asian Cup).
