Rimando is too short and is awful on crosses. Seitz is the future! (Autocorrect takes his name to Switzerland) You claimed he’s been the GM for 8 years, but Waibel was his predecessor who left in 2019. Fall has overseen the transition from Petke to Freddy Juarez, and now to Pablo. He’s dealt with DLH, Waibel shitting on the Academy (all those we bemoan that we lost happened during Waibel’s tenure!) to league ownership, to Jazz-appointed interim President, to Covid, to……. now. This year is the one I am really holding judgment. I was sorely disappointed this off-season. The Chicho Arango deal removes some of the heat. The deal and timing is so weird, that it seems like this was a gentlemen’s agreement made last year, but it sucks that we couldn’t secure him by the end of the 1st window. We complain that this roster is built with 2nd and 3rd string players and a stripped-down FO. Correct. That is exactly what DLH wanted for 10years, and it is going to take a while to right the ship. Whether this is all on Fall or not, I don’t know. But I do know it isn’t worth my angst and frustration. I’m with @goobx1 that I’m just here for the fun, be it good or bad, and I’m not going to line anyone up against the wall, unless it is Andy Carroll. I will throw the first stone, the last stone, and all the rest inbetween if given the opportunity.
Good response Appreciate the corrections the seitz thing should follow me…. But I’m not GM I really like the arrango move but someone has to pin down Elliot on answering why now and not before.
When was he supposed to acquire him from LAFC? It's been explained that RSL (or pretty much any MLS team) couldn't offer LAFC a better deal than outside the league teams could. Or was RSL supposed to get him in the middle of the Clausura after he joined Pachuca in Feb?
The other weird thing is that Pachuca didn't even really start to play him much until April 10th, and he ripped it up for them since. He scored in every game (5) since then!!! And now they are trading him?
When Arango steps onto the pitch in a RSL kit, I too, will cut Fall a lot of slack. But…if Arango doesn’t it will probably be the end of Fall’s tenure at RSL.
Well the media told us Cuellar was coming last year and then there was the Meram for Shinyashiki trade that had to be modified. I get the skepticism.
Because Fall…and Weibel before him. How many times have we heard we are at the very verge of signing a talented international player, only to have the deals fail? Either the paperwork got delayed in the mail, MLS HQ killed it, another club offered a better deal at the last minute, or the player was just using RSL to get a pay bump from his team. Other than losing out on signings, there’s the issue of signees coming in injured and not available to play, out of shape and cannot play, or has visa issues and is unavailable for several weeks. Thus, I’m an unbeliever until I see the rumored addition actually walk onto the pitch in a RSL kit.
