If the ball didn't hit his arm, it would have it his torso so this was about the only big call he got correct. No one mentioned the time he took getting the guys to play nice on dead balls. Second half stoppage time was 3 minutes and that was about the time he took to allow the ball to return to play. Brian Hall was the worst at making the game about him. We don't pay to see guys like this officiate.
Yes so a Houston player DID have the ball hit his arm 100% however he was attempting to head/block the ball/shot and his arms were at his side and his hands were behind his back to purposely get them out of the way and the ball was dipping/knuckling and he was simultaneously jumping and craning his neck to get his forehead on it when it dipped and hit his twisting body directly at his arm. Although I WISH I could say it should have been a penalty the dude was doing everything possible to not have it hit his arm and it would have been pretty harsh to call a handball although the Fire could have used some parity on the bad calls.
Watched the video, and the last point of contact was clearly outside the box...and it was in Souquet's stumble that his left foot hit the back of the attackers leg...and that was a foul...outside the box.
From the Fire in an email to supporters: Also, during the match’s second half, two Chicago Fire employees heard people in the Supporters’ Section use the P--- chant. Warnings were given to people involved in the separate incidents, and the official notification was broadcast on the video screen during the match.
To bad the sound system for announcements was horrible. And is it just me or is the lighting there suddenly very dim?
Yes, it might. He’s ingrained in multiple areas. Pelzer might be the more appropriate target for the fan’s ire.
In my opinion ( and many others), he needs to be “ungrained” sooner rather than later. If only by virtue of his position within the organization, he has to be held responsible for many, many bad things.
Bad things: 1. Assembling disjointed rosters 2020-Present 2. Overseeing two rebuilds over four years, yielding near league worst results 3. Hiring and firing two head coaches 4. Failing to sufficiently understand MLS roster rules Good things: 1. Finding Duran (though just following Real Madrid scouts around could’ve done the same) 2. Convincing Mansueto to buy Lugano. Nice avenue to blood players like Haile-Selassie and to unload players like Aliseda. If it were my money, the bad outweighs the good. Results muthaf***r!
I think they could easily just start ejecting a few people a game and give several game bans. People would get the hint. “But what about the guy next to me!” Well, they can’t grab everyone. This time it was you. Sorry not sorry.
