I think Kreis added a dimension that was symbiotic with Lagerway. It’s pretty rare for a GM and Coach to have that kind of relationship. But, yeah, it was mostly Lagerway.
In the article he comes across as a guy who thinks he has followed a terrific plan, and will be surprised to be portrayed as an idiot.
He admits to using transermarket and the likes to be the final say on scouting He does not come across as someone who has done this as long as he has
And speaking of the trio of the RSL glory days, Phil Neville is sacked in Miami, and Jason Kreis is part of the fallout as well. Their interim head coach is another recognizable RSL name - Javier Morales. Club has parted ways with Phil NevilleThe team has also announced that it has parted ways with Assistant Coach Jason Kreis. Inter Miami CF Assistant Coach Javier Morales will assume the role as Interim Head Coach effective immediately, while Assistant Coach Darren Powell,… pic.twitter.com/0vcrIpeZb8— Inter Miami CF (@InterMiamiCF) June 1, 2023
If he comes to town as the head coach of Inter Miami he’ll get a standing ovation when he comes out of the tunnel. And I would hope the crowd loudly chants “Javi! Javi! Javi!….”
Is there a chance we host them if we both advance to the next round in the Open Cup, or would we travel to Miami?
Throw out the USOC games (I'd weight them more if it was A squad vs A squad) and you have the following records: Miami - 15 points in 15 games; 5 W, 10 L, 0 D LA Galaxy - 12 points in 15 games; 3 W, 9 L, 3 D RSL - 16 points in 15 games; 4 W, 7 L, 4 D Colorado - 12 points in 16 games; 2 W, 8 L, 6 D This got me wondering what their monthly records are. I've included Colorado because they're really struggling, but I also don't think Kroenke is paying attention enough to want a change. I don't remember how to insert tables, so here's a screen shot of the results. LA and Miami have near identical monthly results. RSL was terrible in March, improved in April, and dropped back down in May. I'd go back and compare the results against Cassar & Petke's seasons if I had more time. RSL is bad and I don't see us improving.
Kind of unfair to lump Cassar in with the others, as he coasted during his time and inherited a good team.
Agreed. I forgot he was let go after three games at the start of 2017. Not really enough games to compare that start with the current season.
The deal is reportedly for 2.5 years, with an option for 2026. So maybe it’ll happen in 2025. Fingers crossed.
It does. I went out early to Audi Stadium in DC (like four hours early to buy ponchos for my group) and the very proud, very excited groups of El Tri fans hoping to greet Chicharito when the Galaxy arrived for training was pretty neat to see.
I got to the game about 20minutes late, because I have 2 young kids who operate on their own time. We had our tickets scanned and were just walking in from the NW staircases when the 1st goal was scored, so we got to sing the song and watch the replays. We just got sat down and said pleasantries to all the regulars around us when we had the perfect view to see Chicharito make a turn and just go down, as if the pitch opened up and swallowed him. It was the weirdest looking thing in real time. The first reaction people had on the East and South sides of the stadium were outrage at the dive. But everyone on our side was just confused. He had his face covered as he was stretchered off, I'm sure crying. Dude just turned 35 and just came back from another injury. This might be it for him.
It was awful to watch from my seat (section 14 - SW corner) Nobody touched him but it was immediately obvious he had a serious injury. All the players around him screamed for the trainers
I'm on just that (South) side of the tunnel about 10 rows up, first row of blue seats behind the red Lions Club seats. We split them among my family. I imagine that @Ismitje had just as good or better view of it. Just awful.
