now we know who the real power broker is in this Messi drama Messi Turned Down $1 Billion From Saudis To Go To Miami Because His Wife Didn’t Want To Live In The Gulf (msn.com)
No way! I always said MLS letting go of Arango was stupid. Glad he's back. He was scoring goals with Pachuca even tho he did not start all the time. Glad to see him back where he belongs. In MLS. Happier still, he wont play against us today.
and the euro snobs coming out in force, according to them the SA league is better quality of soccer then MLS and Messi is a fool for turning down a billion dollars, to go to an inferior league, bunch of idiots
With Miami in last place in the east, let's start preparing for the "MLS wants Messi in the playoffs" complaints every time a call goes Miami's way the rest of the season.
Damn, you are right. He is surely thinking where the hell do I have to go to get away from this guy?!
SA seems like China a few years ago. Lots of disposable income and looking to diversify. Now they’re bored with that particular toy. I don’t think I’ve seen a big name signing in 2-3 seasons. We’ll see if SA get similarly bored with their league. I don’t think it’s glamorous enough for them as evidenced with this week’s purchase of the PGA despite their extravagant LIV investment. They want the history and prestige. Doesn’t explain Newcastle and I chuckle every time I see the SA owners at St. James’s.
I think someone was posting elsewhere that he was a victim of the cap, basically; wanted (and deserved) a raise that would've pushed him into DP territory. I think LAFC has a spot but didn't want to / couldn't use it (I think they're tied up with U-22 signings as well). Arguably this is parity working the way it should.
Wow. One other player that I have to respect: Don Garber. He has been a great commissioner and done some good work. The league made good decisions here, him included. Wow.
this Messi thing is crazy tickets are going for 1k in up for games that he would play in, sucks for the LAG STM's that they won't be able to profit from the Messi effect this year
If I don’t get a Messi home game next year so I can sell my tix for a down payment on a new car, I riot…..
Gusan standing on his head against LAFC, dude is on fire and Vela sure looks done, came off the bench missed a PK, got a re-take and skyed it.
Wow! what a performance by Gusan, the best GK performance I've seen in MLS in a long time. I usually hate draws but at the end of this game I was rooting for a draw and that CCL hangover is real for LAFC, they worked everything around the CCL and got burned by it.
Saw like 20 minutes of it because I was so pissed at Galaxy I forgot but yeah, great saves all game. Saw on the replay he blocked Vela's PK attempt and even after retaking it, Vela skies is it. Vela is gone next year. But 38 year old Guzan still has it. Did the same vs Orlando last week.
Chase Gasper started at left back for Houston against LAFC. And now he’s going off with a left hip injury. Being replaced by Daniel Steres.
