Fresneda was benched by his coach in the biggest game of the season. 0-0 draw vs Getafe where Valladolid got relegated. I haven't seen much of him, but makes you wonder if all the hype was created due to a decent showing vs Vini earlier on in the season. And then the entire Valladolid defense looked awful when we beat them 6-0 at Bernabeu. Odri used to give us hell whenever we played Real Sociedad away and that probably motivated us to spash 35 ME on him. And then he looked so bad at RM from his first match onwards. Maybe we should look at an RB who's proven at CL level.
Last good RB Arsenal signed was Sagna so I wouldn't rate anyone based on their desperation. Bellerin was above average even in his best days and regressed fast.

Kane: “I think it comes down more to what Kane wants to do. He tried to ‘engineer’ a move to Man. City years ago but he didn’t have any power due to his contract. My memory fails me right now but is Ordiozola THAT bad? Enough for Carlo to give him just 90 mins all season with 25 mins as a #10? Carvajal has had many stinkers and starts when healthy like nothing happened, he might have vet cred but my word some of his performances this year were an abomination. I just don't think Ordiozola is as awful as we're lead to believe.
Odri is a cone in defense and not a smart player offensively. I think Zidane gave up on this guy when he picked up a stupid red card while we were chasing a game. Basically a RB who can't defend and lacks football IQ. Not surprised multiple coaches thought he's not good enough to get even garbage minutes at RM.
AO is pretty terrible defensively but ok in attack. The issue is that at Fiorentina he played ok and played a lot because he was a wingback there and that fits his strengths. We should never have recalled him. Playing at Madrid, he has to be a more well rounded RB, and he isn’t that. Vasquez probably just has the trust of the coaches and works his tail off. But he shouldn’t be played at RB. Should be Nacho every time if Carvajal isn’t playing. If Nacho isn’t available play Militao there. Has to be a defender and not a makeshift option like Lucas.
Agreed, the only thing I'd add is LV can play as a RB if we're playing against a team sitting in a low block. If we're possessing 65 percent of the ball and further up the pitch, he can get by.
In a vacuum, Cancelo is the perfect fit. He is a cheat code going forward on the attack but highly suspect defensively. But the reality is the guy made noise at both City and Bayern in a span of 4 months over playing time, the second he hits the bench here there's going to be issues in the media + he's a Mendes guy. I highly doubt the club goes near Cancelo, regardless of his quality.
It is too late to talk about Haaland or Lewandowski. No one could have perceived Benzema's drop of form nor we should give up the Ballon D'or winner at that point. The decisions last summer were not bad. They were just bad luck. If not Kane, we are left with Alvaro as our starter and backup. Rodrygo is not a number 9. Basically, we have to gamble our chance in 2024 with Mbappe who turned us down twice which probably never happened in our history, and we are asking Perez to do it for the third time, and Haaland who is well-paid, playing for his father's team that happens to be the best team in the best league in the world in a country where he grew up. Meanwhile, Kane scores many goals seasons after seasons. He is caught in a situation where we have some sort of the upper hand over the other clubs. No one can predict Hazard;s injury record so we won't know if Kane will be injured over here. And who else in the market can we sign with a lesser risk? Osimhen with his 150 million price tag is now the only other option. I am skeptical about him. He has a higher chance of being another Jovic with almost doubling the price tag than Kane flopping over here. But I rather overpay for him than going the season with just Alvaro. Of course, we have Ramos, Thuram, Firmino, David, Joselu, etc on the market.... oh come on.
They’ve built the team and the team has won countless trophies ( including 5 CL’s fairly recently) and they have kept the team challenging for honors for years not to mention assembling a young core of fantastic players to try to take the team well into the future, that’s reality, so I’m going to go with, yes they do when what the team has achieved long term is taken into context. That will/would be interesting indeed, two players fighting each other to dribble opponents in the same space over and over again with nary a thought of what could happen down our left side if either should lose the ball, lots of work for whoever is playing LCM and DM if we play 4 3 3, I hope it’s not Toni, Vin really really likes to have that space in front of him to run into, to work in, now, let me have it, I’m negative, don’t know what I’m talking about, I only support rubbish Ferland at LB, he’s garbage…….
Actually, I might be one of them. I did not expect him to be that bad by October, 2022. But would you give him up in the summer of 2022 for Lewa? And would Haaland believe that he can unseat Benzema by the time of the 2022 WC Finals?
I wanted Lewa last summer to share striker duties with Benzema because they were both old, but still elite if managed correctly.
That does not work. You have to convince both of them they will pay only in 50% of the matches and one of them will sit out the big ones.
All in all I dont think we had major mistakes in transfer window. I dont recall reliable backup striker or starting level RW. We counted on Rodrygo to be the backup striker and frequent starter in front 3 (sharing time with Fede who just came of a spectacular season playing on right side). I think that overall that was a good decision. Where our mistake was in my opinion was that we started season with Asensio as main starter and that we did not rotate our midfield enough.
So if we count Bellingham (€100m) and potentially a striker like Kane (€115m), plus if you count that we bring in either a Pavard or Davies (€40m) plus some smaller moves like Brahim and Fran Garcia (€10m?), plus paying half of Hazard’s last year (€15m) It brings us to a net of €290m. I can’t think of any major sales that have been discussed yet. Does anyone feel like we might have to make one big sale to somewhat balance the books? Perhaps Mendy goes for €20-30m but will that be enough?
If its true that we have 400M€ to spend than we should go for Kane and Davies....sell Mendy or use him to lower the price a bit..LB would be well covered with Davies and F.Garcia...right back Carvajal and Lucas..We can maybe use Odriozola to lower the price of Fresneda if he is that good..I never watched him.Not sure that there is much space for Brahim if no one of trio Modric,Kroos or Ceballos leaves
I dont think that Kane will cost 115M€.maybe levy ask that and he is a though negotiator but Kane would go for around 90M€..he just needs to push also for exit so that we dont have late august drama..Davies wont cost 40.He will be around 80M€...as far i know F.Garcia is already bought for 5M€

Real Madrid is not known to manage correctly in this type of situation. Rotation especially in the forward position has been an issue for a long time. Benzema's form would drop with or without Lewa, but with Lewa on the team, some of us would probably blame Lewa for Benzema's decline. Benzema was known to be out of form during the periods when a challenger was on the team. I am referring to Higuain and then, Morata. He finally became a star when he was the undisputed starter with just Mariano as his backup. i don't know if it is true, but this topic has been discussed during Benzema's time here. We would never find out what would happen if both are on the team.
