He went to Pachuca for $6m. I don't know what the GAM/TAM to USD$ is, but it would have been at least $2m in GAM. I'm almost positive RSL doesn't have that kind of GAM lying around (they don't sell players). So why would LAFC sell within MLS for less value? I'm more curious why this is happening now for Arango? He left MLS a few months ago. Is it not working out at Pachuca? It looks like he wasn't starting regularly, but he was the second leading scorer for them this past season. Is he getting a pay raise at RSL? What's the transfer fee look like? LAFC get a portion of a future sell, but how does that work if it's the same amount as we was sold for previously? Why would Pachuca move him at a loss only a few months later? They aren't getting relegated or anything. I;m not hung up on what his salary is or what the transfer fee is for RSL, I'm just glad they are trying to bring in difference makers. They only thing that could make this better is if Arango is a TAMable DP (highly doubt it, but maybe).
I'm interested in the international slot situation at RSL. One way to free up a spot is to not bring back Ojeda. I would like to get clarification on his loan. I thought it ended on 6/30, but Trey is saying on Twitter that it's 7/31.

I wonder if the rumored Savarino and Arango rumors are related - is a sale of Savarino going to help clear room for Arango? I think on net that'd be an improvement - basically, the upgrade from Rubin to Arango is bigger than the downgrade from Savarino to Chang. Would be great if we got to see a Savarino-Arango-Gomez trio in action though.

I liked how he talked about how the team has come on strong the last six weeks. Our record in MLS play since 4/22 is 3 wins, 2 losses and 4 draws. While that’s an improvement compared to the season’s start, it isn’t something to gush about. If you throw in the USOC wins, then, yes. But, really, only league games are relevant.
So I had a long long day of meetings before checking all the glorious RSL news about the signing and USOC victory. A good day for RSL fans. I was all set and maybe not spending money on tickets this summer (two kids in college next year!) but I don’t think I can resist at least on match in July.
