At the behest of George Soros and the New World Order of course.

And I don't mean the late 90s wrestling stable, if you catch my drift. This NWO is not just too sweet.

I would say the timing of the article in relation to the dam isn't great. There's going to be a lot of tankies pointing at the WaPo article and using it to say that if Ukraine can blow up Nordstream, they are more than willing to blow up the dam.

I don't think it was intentional, mind you. It sounds like they have been working on that article for some time, so the fact that it came out on the same day that the dam's destruction is likely just a coincidence.

Im starting to understand why they half-assed it with the defenses. I mean, what’s the point, if you are planning to flood the whole field?

Those are upriver from the dam, so they aren't impacted by the flooding. On the other hand, by blowing up the dam, they are lowering the lake, so there is now a way around those fortifications

Even if one believes Ukraine was responsive for the NordStream sabotage, there'd be no logic on tankies' part to that conclusion. In the first instance, Ukraine would have been destroying other people's stuff. In the second instance, Ukraine would be destroying their own stuff and their own people and their own land. Willingness to destroy someone else's stuff doesn't logically suggest willingness to destroy your own stuff and your own people and your own land.

I.don't think Ukraine caused the dam breach but I can see how their extreme dependence on NATO support might lead them to get creative at.times to ensure the west stays bought in at highest levels possible. Desperate times can lead to desperate measures. I'm not sure what I might be capable of if in the midst of an existential threat to all I depend on and hold dear.

    1. F Russia for firing on evacuating people. 2. Per people hearing an explosion around the damn: If a reservoir built by a dam, being filled over capacity and thus breaking, wouldn't said dam cause an explosive sound for those who live around it? I only ask cause I keep seeing people mention the sounds of explosions as proof of Russian/Ukraine actions. Where as I am kinda of coming down to just basic Russian incompetence controlling/operating the dam.

This is one of the areas where I've come round to the realisation that the hawks were right - though i also accept the idea that in fog of war type situations where everyone is groping around in the dark, you may need to escalate slowly.

But we should have got to tanks etc sooner

I call this therapy. Like splitting and stacking 7 trees worth of firewood, having it fall over, then coming up with an even more elaborate stack

Will be interesting to see if the NATO partners will still be discussing which weapons they should and should not send to Ukraine by the time the Russians reach the point that killing half of Kiev seems "reasonable" to them.

This is where Russia's cultivation of disinformation for so long really comes back to bite them.

I've built a number of these but have since switched back to long stacks for drying. Our conditions are too wet and the wood in the middle and the weather side goes bad.

Now i build under a tree line with wind from multiple directions, and only 2 depth.

I need to build a proper roof system this summer

Chopping wood is strictly therapy 101. I've moved on to frog ponds, trees and habitats. Stage 3 is definitely buying pigs and goats

It can't be an easy job. I assume they'd need to divert the river around it while they did the repairs.

The current Vatnik narrative on Twitter is that the damage from the dam is Ukraine's fault, since they supposedly increased the flow from upstream dams and raised the level of the reservoir for the broken dam.

It's not going well, because people, including a number of civil engineers with experience in the field, are pointing out that the Russians could have lowered the level of the reservoir, since they controlled this dam. People who design dams plan for heavy rainfall and the like.
