I am not a legacy Miami fan but this will be a big deal.

Have a sense it will launch more inter sport discussions about MLS, Messi, LIv Golf and politics.

Looking forward to Stephen A Smith commenting on it all.

    Congrats to Miami.

I am surprised that there isn't much talk about Inter Miami and Messi and the coming MLS-Mexico Cup, starting on July 21. That should be an exciting tournament!

We live in a world. And in this world we live in, it is comprised of idiots.

Frankly, I really liked the PINK Stadium in Ft Lauderdale. It was 20 min from my house. I had free parking because it was near the airport and it was intimate, close to the pitch and cheap. $25 a ticket...that all changed and will continue to change. Good for MLS and Miami but I hate it. Will be over an hour away and the ticket costs are 1000% more now due to Messi.

I looked it up on Ticketmaster and tickets now cost an average of around $400

What you'll get now is mostly corporate CEO's taking their clients to games, but the regular middle-clas fan will be squeezed out

Its crazy. And yes, the "Familia" or the ultras that were there every match with their drums and congas and whistles...what are they gonna do? Does Inter Miami now lose that feel? It was Inter's version of the Südtribüne and I am afraid that will be no more...

I have that game marked in my calendar, actually.
I'll be rooting for Cruz Azul too. Still very sore about Qatar

Are you watching it via Apple TV? It will be worth watching in the Round of 16, I reckon. Some teams will put in poor performances, I reckon, it seems an odd type of tournament to have in mid-season in the summer. It would maybe work better as a winter tournament, I don't know. I'll give it a look, though.

LOL....no way. I only watch matches on IPTV these days.
I got 3 different providers. Only costs me $30 USD per month for all 3.
And for $30 I get almost every channel from around the world

I'm looking into getting that for the new season. Sick of paying £70 per month for
BT Sport, Sky Sport and Viaplay. $30 is enough to pay to watch football,
even $50 would be fair, but $30 is a bargain.

Netherlands v Greece and Ireland in September will be great games! Then,
France and Greece in October! Piepende kont tijd! :D

I'm currently in the US, I have ESPN+ for Bundesliga/La Liga and Paramount+ for CL and Europa League. Not sure I have watched an MLS match on TV but I do have Apple TV. Is MLS additional? I used to love GOLTV back in the day.

It used to be most footie games were on a small number of channels.
Nowadays which ever outfit throws the most money at TV rights will get the contract.
Now we've got DAZN, Fubo, BEIN, Peacock, Viaplay.....etc...etc along with traditional big companies like ESPN, ITV, BTSports....etc.

Its all becoming a bit too much, and there's no way I'm gonna pay extra money for all those channels just to watch sports. Also when you have IPTV you get English Championship L. games and other 1st division L. games in Europe, so you can watch the development of under the radar players

Yes, tier 2 football is waaaaay better than it was 20 years ago. La Liga 2, English Championship, Italia Serie B have great teams, great players. Many national teams have tier 2 league players in them now, that was unheard of even 10 years ago.

Yes, the cost of casually watching football on TV is too much now. Paying $30-50 per month is enough. TNT Sports (Warner-Disney) took over BT Sport recently and they now own what Eurosport owned, that channel was a shambles, but had great stuff on it, top-flight ice hockey, etc.
Things will change, but in the UK, it should be free to watch Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England international matches on TV. In Scotland, we have to get Viaplay to watch the Euro qualifiers, FFS, that better not be the case for the World Cup qualifiers or people will go ape-shit. No other country is like that, it's always on basic TV. But the Scottish F.A. and government became complacent after Scotland's failure to qualify from 1999-2018.

I am watching Flamengo v Fluminense right now and I watch the Copa Libertadores.
I will try and watch the MLS-MX Cup (Leagues Cup is a crap name for it) and I'll obviously watch the Copa America next year in tandem with the Euros. And I will watch African Cup of Nations and Asians Cup in January-February. Good way to spend the evenings in winter! Glad they didn't move African Cup to June as was proposed.

Copa Libertadores is fun. I was lucky enough to watch a few live matches at the Estadio Monumental in Guayaquil when Barcelona (Guayaquil) was playing back in the 1990's. I think I saw them vs Cerro Porteno, Colo Colo and a couple Colombian Clubs...maybe Millonarios.

Footballia has over 1000 Copa Libertadores matches from the 1960s to present...

    https://footballia.net/competitions/copa-libertadores

Some legendary matches are yet to be uploaded, like 1977:
Boca Juniors 1–0 Cruzeiro which is three matches, home/away/replay.

But there are loads of classics there. Enjoy!

Average tickets are now around $400. So if you're going with your wife and/or kids you can expect to pay between $800 and $1,600. Aint nobody gonna afford that unless they're well off
