I don't root for "continel brothers" anymore, unless they're up againt someone that is a heavy rival like Germany, Brazil, England or France.

I see nothing but trash talking and hate from our "continental brothers" online. (south america)

I wouldn’t look at these forums as an indicator of who roots for who. A lot South and Latin Americans were pulling for us during the final. I’ve seen videos of people in Peru, Uruguay Ecuador and, Colombia and Chile cheering us on v France.

It's on every social media platform. I'm not saying there are not a lot of support for us, but there's also a huge amount of hate since 2015, probably before that. Maybe it's social media. I don't know. I guess it's just jealousy. I notice it, but I don't interact with it.

I think compared to Brazil who is more of a bitter rival I see Uruguay as a little brother. You never want to lose to them head to head, but if they're playing someone else it's not as big of deal as to root against them nowadays. I'm sure in the past it was different and the rivalry might kick up again if we kept butting heads in tournaments but that hasn't happened much lately since 2011.

Besides ,Brazil is our only threat in terms of trophy count in this tournament. Uruguay has zero title at this level, so I dont mind this tourney having another South American winner other than Argentina & Brazil.

Uruguay with the victory. Only one win away from stitching on that vaunted 5th star.

Israel had a chance at the end but the goalie read the played and covered the ball before the Israeli went around him. I guess for the neutrals, the best remaining final is Uruguay and Italy. But let’s see if the South Koreans can cause an upset.

No need to worry, I am sure they'll continue to look at Argentine, Uruguayan and Brazilian players with Italian ancestry.

Lol, true. The Italian NT is funny, in the sense they can be utterly rubbish for long periods of time, I mean really awful, failing to qualify for tournaments or stinking them out, then they will randomly, out of the blue, go and win one, as in 2006 world cup and and 2022 Euros. Then they will go back to being rubbish.

Honestly, I believe we would have gotten a better result vs Nigeria if Mascherano chose to start Peronne over Tanlongo.

I am not sure what his obsession is with the Copenhagen man.

That guy offers no ball progression except when he plays at center-back.

    Mascherano junior?
