I don't think the US was outclassed or anything though the game reminded me a bit of the US loss to The Netherlands. Don't convert an early chance or two and give up a goal on a counter and then you're chasing the game. Justin Che made a big mistake by going for a tackle on the left wing on that first goal. All he had to do was slow him down and I think he had cover. That was like Quakes 2022 defense. We may be more boring but Luchi has the guys playing smart defense and not diving in when it's too risky. Anyway that Uruguay goal changes the game obviously. And the own goal was just the nail on the coffin. The US had trouble creating chances for a good part of the 1st half but Cade did have some good looks in the 2nd half, including that shot off of a free kick. I think it was headed into the back of the net if not blocked by Pukstas. And he had a near post shot that wasn't too bad. I guess he was hoping to sneak it under the keeper's legs but it didn't really have enough pace. On the negative side, they moved him to the right side late in the game and he hit 2 horribly shanked crosses. I mean not even remotely close. But I think by that time he was "knackered".
Really bummed to see the US bounced. I agree, it was a Netherlands type loss...Uruguay is a talented quality side, a team that knows what it takes to get results in tourneys. They play great collective team defense...and make it a grind. We made mistakes, which will kill you against a side of that quality...you're done. I thought we had enough athleticism and smarts in our backline to carry us through, but Che made a hash of the goal scoring play, prior to his blown whiff tackle...he was too close to Craig on the contested ball...leaving the flank player wide open...really poor positioning. Wynder's was really unfortunate. I felt we had a chance to claw one back if we could have kept it at one...Cade's shot was goal bound, but blocked by his own player...crap luck. Cade was kept in check for the most part Boselli did a good job...probably almost as fast and physical as Cade...that was a good match up. But Cade and Luna were really the only ones trying to get anything done...Luna was really forcing the issue, lost the ball a lot in traffic, but in fairness to him, he didn't have a lot of options to play to that could get any separation from defenders. It was the Cade and Luna show against a well organized D. There were a handful of plays Cade should have done better on...The near post shot, imo was a poor decision, he had at least options if he played it to the right...He unfortunately, tried a very tough volley on the free kick, that looked like it was going directly to Wynder in a better position in front of him, can't fault him for being aggressive, but Wynder would have been point blank. Given the circumstances of the game I think overall Cade did well...It was hit and miss but he was really our only hope. Uruguay is just really good at making you look bad.
"The striker plays hard in the great outdoors when he's not scoring goals for the Quakes." ...when is he scoring goals for the Quakes?? "Breakaway" is a new series on MLS Season Pass. WATCH: https://t.co/OcpBQvUsgYWatch and use the "Add to Up Next" button to make sure you don't miss new episodes. Just look our guy Cade Cowell. "The striker plays hard in the great outdoors when he's not scoring goals for the Quakes." Conclusion: I'm putting the facts together and what I get is: Cade is always playing hard in the great outdoors.
I'm more impressed they managed to get a shot of Cade with the official mascot of Stanislaus County, the absurdly large, white pickup truck. A rare sighting.
MLS season pass gonna also do some vignettes on the fans when they're not in the supporters section at PayPal? We deserve to have our reality depicted, too!
"First the woke elites came for Marlboro Country and you did nothing so now they're coming for gas stoves ... what's next, large trucks that serve no purpose other than running over little kids?" — Cade Cowell 2038 CA governor primary campaign slogan probably these two trucks have the same bed length pic.twitter.com/kv7dJpqRXc— brandon (@coolbutstinky) May 29, 2023
Lol, I was at a horse ranch recently in Santa Clara county and nearly every truck I saw there was white, to the point where I even mentioned it to the person I was there with. Later on another friend told me that non-white paint jobs can add thousands$$ to the cost of the truck. So, less expensive to go white!
Though I am sure a lot of people buy them that don't need them, some people actually do need them. I have a Ford F250 that I use to haul all sorts of things and I have to do some trailer hauling on occasion as well. I don't drive it around unnecessarily, only 85,000 miles in 20 years, but, it is still something I cannot do without at this time.
Sorry, just repeating what I was told. That then begs the question, why do so many cowboy types like the white???
Drive by a "truck" dealer that moves a lot of trucks and you will see that probably 80% are white. these are typically "fleet" trucks.
I understand that, but, still, for some reason white seems to be the predominate color for horse owners with trucks.
From what I can find out: White is cheaper than other paints Doesn't fade like other colors Actually hides dirt better than darker colors (that's what some say) Keeps the vehicle cooler More contrast if applying graphics Easier to see
I have a white car (not a giant truck) for most of those reasons. Sometimes I regret it because it looks kinda wimpy but if you have a giant truck, not so wimpy. My dad had a white Mustang back in the day, but it wasn't a cool looking 60's Mustang, it was later, and had some kind of awful maroon vinyl top that oxidized horribly. That's the car he let me take to school. It was almost cool, but not quite.
Cade earns five times as much as Benji and yet Benji has scored one (1) goal this year in his 585 minutes played. By contrast, Cade has played 841 minutes and has scored zero (0) goals. Last season, while playing significantly less minutes than Cade, Benji scored twice as many goals (6 to Cade's 3). The year before, Benji played roughly 800 minutes, and he scored 4 goals! Cade, on the other hand, played over twice as many minutes (1670) and scored only 5, just one more goal than Benji! All this is to say, what's happened with Cade's progress? Ever since he got that raise his club performance has dropped off, sharply. And who should be our starting LW assuming both are rested, healthy and ready to go? If you look at the past 3 years, Benji looks far more likely to score. Seems like Cade was making better progress before he became a top earner. Was it a mistake by Leitch, bumping him up so soon?
Yea he's stagnated for a while now. Opponents have him pretty figured out I believe. Hope we sell him this summer and cash in. Invest that money elsewhere on the roster. Hopefully he comes back from the under 20 WC and lights it up, but he hasn't done it so far this season. Maybe playing in the friendly confines of pay pal and having no pressure, knowing he won't lose his spot is probably not a great scenario for development either.
I think this is right, at least in part, I was about to put it this way... I'd say coaching could be a factor, maybe Cade responded better to Matias Almeyda, and maybe he needed the competition to be more balanced between himself and Benji. Once Cade gets his massive pay increase, he knows he's getting chance after chance, maybe he doesn't have to work as hard, all that money, things to buy, the distractions mount up...that's a lot for a young guy. Along with adjusting to coach Covelo, and now coach Luchi...maybe the money and the coaching turnover have led to a loss of focus. I'd keep starting Benji if I was Luchi but that seems unlikely given all that CL has riding on Cade's success. I realize Leitch gets a total pass around here until 2026 but I'd say he blew it on this one, too eager to look like a selling team perhaps. Would've been better to keep things equitable between the two and let them fight it out for playing time.
Would've been better to keep things equitable between the two and let them fight it out for playing time. Hahaha imagine that, a professional player having to fight for his spot that's not dependent on his salary alone. I mean RM cut hazard and payed him to leave and barely played him after spending how much to aquire him??
Re white vehicles, they used to be a far lower percentage...like 5-10% on the road. It is the cheapest color to buy and readily available everywhere it seems. imo, a greater majority of people are more concerned about price these past few years...white cars are everywhere. I go to Safeway and park my white Honda HRV and there are at least 4-5 other small white suvs in the same row...it's a good test to find the right one when hungover. one positive with Cade, he's setting up his right footed shot quicker. Part of that is he clearly is working on quick cutting to his left, with some success, so defenders have to respect that instead of just sitting on him to cut to his right foot shot. Maybe the nats coaches have told him he has enough power to beat keepers without the big leg wind up....just cut and side foot curl...which i think he did on his shot that was blocked by his teammate against Uruguay. Just my two cents, I think the bad mustache is holding him back...get something done on the field first before preening for style points bro...you have to earn the mustache.
49% of my cars have been white, but my current vehicle is red, which happens to be the best color. And yes, the mustache
