Basically yep, the lack of panic with him is because it seems quite clear he is not interested. Italy may be #1, Canada #2, not a lot of evidence the US is in the running. I'm sure (they better be) our guys are in communication, from a distance, but you can't make someone want you, and for now it seems he's fine w/not being a part of our program. Keep the interest up on our end, dot i's and cross t's of interest, but beyond that, we have to let it go. Hence the lack of a panic.

My biggest question is why are panicking over Aidan Morris who may be good for the USMNT A squad but someone like Koleosho can also play for the A squad Only one of them is getting the panic.
We also don't wanna make Canada better.

    We won't win 'em all.

We shouldn't be "panicking" about any of them.

All we can do is let them know of our interest. If they choose to play for a different team, what are we supposed to do? Put a gun to their heads?

Musah has been good for the US, Sonora has been crap with his club AND hasn't looked good for the US. So unlike with Musah there's NO justification to call in Sonora unless the coaching staff sees some hidden talent there that they think they can bring out in him... we shall see.

I disagree, I'm all for panicking if the situation calls for it. The current situations with both Aidan Morris and Luca Koleosho do not call for it. And even if we actually lost either or both, while that would suck, I'm not sure either is good enough to panic over. We haven't lost one of these dual nat battles that actually mattered in quite some time now, if we exclude guys we didn't have a chance with like Jonathan David and Trent Alexander Arnold.

It’s because Koleosho isn’t switching for the Nations League (if he was the paperwork would have already been filed),

For now he’s with Italy and I don’t think he’s close to a permanent decision on his future. Whereas with Aidan Morris if he goes with Canada now, that’s it for him.

Indeed. We haven't lost a "difference maker" in quite some time. In fact, in the difference maker ledger we've come out way in the black.

The day will come when we lose one. Inevitable. Maybe Koleosho is that guy. I have no idea. Koleosho has played 800 minutes for a relegated La Liga team this season. I'll be thrilled to get him into the fold, but also..............I can't get worked up about it.

More like 55 La Liga minutes. The 730 minutes was with the reserves.

Exactly. It's fun to be a semi-viable option for players these days! Stick it to my veins!

I would be surprised if he jumped ship for Canada. I think he would be a starter for the US in the Gold Cup... and would likely see the lion's share of the minutes. But if he does leave I will forever root against him... just like Araujo.

Pretty much exactly this… In the big picture, we’ve been incredibly fortunate on how many dual nationals have opted to play for us.

Some players will choose to play for other national teams for their own personal reasons.

Since Espanyol get relegated they will be playing in La Liga 2 so he should get more minutes.
He's also 18 years old also remembers that it took musah 2 years to have a good session.

Sure. But we can't possibly win them all.

He's been with Italy's youth teams. Note: He didn't make Italy's U20 WC roster. I don't know if he wasn't released (like say Brenden Aaronson wasn't). And he's only provisionally tied to Italy. He could come back to us if that path doesn't work out. And it might not. The only other youth competition he's still eligible for is the Olympics. Could the US urge him to switch to make our Olympic roster? I don't know. Italy might still qualify for the Olympics, but have a tough path to qualification thru the UEFA U21 Championships. Would he actually make that roster anyway? Would he make our roster? Hard to say. Cuz we have a lot of U23 wing/forward talent.

A reminder. Neither of his parents are American. He has a Nigerian father and an Italian-Canadian mother. He was born in the States, but moved to Europe as a child. So what is his actual emotional connection to the US years later? Hard to say. But he's eligible for all four countries.

Right now he wouldn't make the senior teams of three of those four countries. Maybe Canada would invite him to something like the Gold Cup in order to recruit him. I don't know. They're not short of wing talent. And he'd have to file for a switch ASAP in order to do that.

USMN T does not have many right-wingers.
Our depth for right-wingers is Weah and Booth. Weah is getting turned into an RB.
Yes, I understand that other players could play there but we should not be doing that if we have depth. Players like Paul Arriola, Álex Zendejas, and many others might not be good enough for USMNT in 2026.
Also, none of the U20 wingers will make the 2026 roster.

I’d agree that we are thin at winger, especially the type that are a bit speedier and like to dribble which I think Koleosho is. That being said 60 minutes and a goal doesn’t mean you’re ready for international minutes. We don’t need to rush him.

I'm not saying he should be in the A squad but he should at least be on the 60-player list like he is with Canada.

I don’t think he accepts if we were to call him so what’s the point? He knows he’s not international quality and would rather not potentially miss the start of preseason to ride the bench for a B team. Would rather we have Paredes or Paxten on the list beings they would accept.

I’ll note that his parents are still American even if they were born in another country (and fairly certain they still live in the US).

And he didn’t leave the US as a child he left the US when he joined Espanyol’s U18 team.

I think what happened is we slowed played him a bit and he had his head turned by the chance to play for Italy. Which may or may not stick.

He left the Untied states at the age of 11 which is older than players like Balogun and musah

Aiden Morris not on the Canada squad.... thank goodness.

He should be an integral part of the CM for the USMNT GC Squad.

Not surprised that Aidan Morris isn’t on the Nations League roster for Canada, I don’t think he would pick Canada unless he was completely out of the picture for the US.

If he prefers the US, it makes sense to wait and see what happens with GC. It seems like he's kinda on the bubble of the A-team roster, probably one of the guys in the mix to fill in when any of the preferred CMs are injured. If he goes to the GC with the US and plays well, he might jump to the front of the line. If he doesn't get picked for the GC for some reason or doesn't play much, then Canada might look appealing.
