    I’m not sure any player had such a strong connection with the fan base in such a short space of time as Ruud did, effectively only spent 2 seasons playing with us.

    So Messi’s options are… take a pay cut to play for Barcelona, or get 5x his current salary to play in Saudi. If he takes the Barca offer he actually would be silly.

    The Inter Miami offer I guess falls somewhere in between the above two. But he will be the only big name in a frontier market while all the other stars go to KSA. Would be a mistake IMO.
