Along the line of this freakin FO not being forthright it is rumored Sega has a season ending injury. Just a rumor but there it is. https://www.reddit.com/r/LAGalaxy/c.../?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3
I have no direct knowledge about Sebas situation. But I can tell you scammers exist on social media. One tried to get me on Facebook messenger a long time ago. I was just bored, so I replied thinking it was a bot. After a few minutes of going nowhere they demanded money or they were going to post the screenshot of the chat. Fortunately it was mostly innocuous so nothing incriminating for me so I just blocked and nothing came of it. From his post it appears he bit into it a bit too hard. Hopefully he can get off social media for a bit, maybe let a promotional team run it for a while. And good luck to him and Becky, however they move forward on this.
For those longing for the good old days… Just got this: Major League Soccer has fined New England Revolution head coach Bruce Arena an undisclosed amount for violating the league's public criticism policy following New England’s match against the Columbus Crew on April 15. I am shocked that Bruce was controversial— Michael Lewis (@Soccerwriter) April 21, 2023
Somewhat surprised that Gregg hasn't been disciplined (that we know of) for his "What is a handball" pantomime
I was watching the Man City vs Leeds match yesterday and spotted Robbie Keane on the sidelines. Apparently he's an assistant coach for newly appointed Leeds manager Sam Allardyce.
Ezra's out at Chicago. I don't know where it went wrong for him there, but of the five former Galaxy players currently coaching in MLS, he had the second-worst record.
Bring him home! 100 regular season goals and counting. 📈Gyasi Zardes becomes the 13th player in MLS history to hit the century mark. pic.twitter.com/eLtj8Rgq5a— Major League Soccer (@MLS) May 28, 2023
Remi Cabral makes his MLS debut with the Colorado Rapids. MLS debut x 2️⃣Congrats to @marlonn10_ and Rémi Cabral on earning their first MLS minutes last night against Columbus Crew 🎉#Rapids96 pic.twitter.com/wemADajYRf— Colorado Rapids (@ColoradoRapids) June 1, 2023
I get sick to my stomach just thinking about how the galaxy couldn't get him a Championship here, awful management
Sometimes I think to myself whether Zlatan really played for the Galaxy. Or is it the Galaxy played with Zlatan?
Julián Araujo made his (unofficial) Barcelona first team debut in a friendly against Vissel Kobe today.Araujo, 21, joined Barca from LA Galaxy for ~$4m this winter in a deal completed mere seconds late, meaning he can't play in official, competitive matches until 2023-24 season pic.twitter.com/ZJWK3ilDpT— Tom Bogert (@tombogert) June 6, 2023
Yup, I was thinking the same thing. Six months of training with no game-day expectations and pressure on him might help set him up to succeed better.
This is a reminder to me how bad MLS in general and the Galaxy in particular are at marketing/PR. Putting on celebrations like this for Landon Freakin Donovan and Robbie Keane should have been no-brainers. Same for other MLS club greats when we knew they were retiring. But noooo.. lets just give them a reduced price parking coupon and send them on their way.
Played like he did for us last season - too conservative. Too many back- and square-passes. He had one good chance to go 1v1 in the opponent's box but instead he pulled up and again back-passed. On the positive side he showed his speed, his first touch was very good and he had one instance of excellent last-man 1-on-1 defending.
I was a little out of the loop when Keane left. Did we just … let him go in the off-season? My thoughts on the embarrassment of how we handled Donovan’s retirement are plentiful so I won’t repeat them here.
