As Lawfare pointed out, we only know of a rumored, but souced, existence of the recording. If it really exists, very few have heard it.
While we know Trump kept classified information and he, allegedly, said in the recording that the Saudi's would pay millions for the documentation he had, do we know if he actually sold it? So far Trump's crimes are just possession and while illegal, they aren't to the degree that Hannssen did.
Of course the Saudi's 2 billion investment with Kushner was 6 months after Trump left office. Just saying.
Yeah, one step at a time. But someone as incurious as Donnie wasn't keeping it for posterity's sake. He was making copies.
I don't know about that.. Trump is extremely vain, so it would be entirely in line for him to keep classified documents just so he can wave it in front of sycophants to show how awesome he is.
Oh my... Attempted destruction of evidence??? The maintenance man that reportedly moved classified documents from the storage room to other areas of Mar-a-lago right before law enforcement came to look at the storage room, may have also "accidentally" flooded the surveillance room for Mar-a-lago when emptying out the resort's pool. https://www.cnn.com/2023/06/05/poli...investigation-classified-documents/index.html IT officials have said the server's weren't damaged in the flooding, so may have been no harm done. It was just another in a series of suspicious events that happened in Mar-a-lago in the months before/after Mar-a-lago was raided.

it's pure nonsense and doesn't pass the slightest of smell tests. how can anyone with more than 2 brain cells drain a swimming pool and direct the water toward a building? get the guy to show exactly how TF he did it. and ... in what part of the universe are computer servers stored underground? they aren't, ever - to avoid flooding. especially in an estate built next to water!!
I was in a session led by a guy who has extensive experience in disaster preparedness from the IT side. He was doing an audit of a major hospital around Milwaukee and discovered the hospital's servers were in the basement. A year later, he was called back to the hospital because their basement had flooded, but they hadn't moved the servers. At least they took his other high recommendation and nightly/weekly backups.
similar story - years back the company I worked for set up a US office in Alexandria Virginia. beautiful building, great location, close to the river. all was good until our IT ops guys did an audit of the place before the move date. all hell broke lose when they saw plans to locate servers and network equipment in the basement. plus when asked, the builder admitted that "Erm yeah, sometimes the river does flood this high. Why do you ask?"

The thing about Meadows is that, in addition to being enmeshed in all of Trump's various plots in 2020-2021, he's also an amateur criminal. Trump himself is a total moron, but he seems to have certain gangster survival instincts that he developed as the heir to a crooked family business - never putting things in writing, pushing culpability onto subordinates, etc. A politico and ideologue like Meadows might not have those kinds of instincts, and it's hard to learn them on the job.
I recommend that everybody listen to the latest Lawfare Podcast. It is a nice recap of where we are, and talks about the a lot of things, including jurisdiction, and why. Also gets into the weird way the recording is really important. https://www.lawfareblog.com/lawfare-podcast-catching-jack-smiths-mar-lago-investigation
I just don't understand why people are so wedding to that conclusion based on no evidence. We simply don't know, and it might be hard to learn what he did. Trump's long history of crimes suggests to me it is quite possible he leveraged the info with the likes of Saudi
right. Grand Jury is not something Meadows can simply dodge. My guess is he prefers not to go to prison.
Yep. 2016: no way he can talk his way out of this. 2017: he's toast. 2018: got him this time, he's done. 2019: he'll be forced out any moment. 2020: got him this time, he's done. 2021: he'll be in jail very soon. 2022: with all these investigations, no way he avoids jail time. 2023: got him this time, he's done. How people are still able to be confident that he'll face real consequences for anything is just mind-boggling to me. It's as if they live in an alternate reality where the last seven years never happened. If it happens, good; but I actually pay attention to what's happening around me and so will not expect it until it does.
I think it's pretty clear he is going to be indicted on the documents case - at least that is what all the law nerds are saying. That differs heavily from the era say before the J6C when the law nerds were saying nothing was happening.
I wonder why he didn’t just wave his hand to declassify this? 1666406403550969864 is not a valid tweet id
