I like Icardi, but I’m thankful he has been omitted during the majority of the Scaloni cycle. If you’re playing FIFA, then sure, you can pack 10 forwards in your roster. But realistically, there is only so much room. So if Icardi had gotten the call, it’s pretty safe to say Julian would have stayed at home for CA/WC. Take out Julian, and I reaaaalllly don’t think we would have won the WC. As great as Icardi is, we would have probably had an early exit.

So ban him from the NT sphere? No. But I’m happy he wasn’t part of the 2020-2022 process because I don’t think he would have provided what our current FWs did.

Look it's simple. Icardi is the past, from an era where there was a lot of issues, problems and egos. The current generation and upcoming future generations don't need to see that. It's all positive from here on out.

No Mascherano and no Icardi. At club level all the success, they had their time and moments. They either flopped or wasted it.

    Time is brutal and truthful.

For most of the part, that's true.. but then how many times Messi and ADM has failed to lift trophy at senior level? They eventually did it in their mid 30s. Benzema , Lewa and Zanetti all won CL in their mid 30s and still played at highest level. Klose won WC at 36. Form > age.

Its not like Icardi ever has a proper chance to play in national team. He had a few caps and most as late sub. I believe those caps were under Sampa and the whole team was struggling at the time.

The likes of Tevez and Higuain played in multiple tournaments and has plenty of caps and they never delivers when it matters. In that case , you could say the player simply failed to delivers... but Icardi? we never actually know.

However, as locoriver said, I dont think Icardi would fit in Scaloni's system. Scaloni loves forward who can do multiple task like Julian & Nico who could press off the ball. Even Lautaro would often do that when he wasnt carrying an injury.

I do not think we are saying Icardi should’ve been there instead of Julian because Icardi had a poor season up to the started of the mundial. I think if he gets selected instead of Gio Simeone that won’t be such a bad idea. I doubt either Lautaro or Julian ever get dropped but if Scaloni wants an extra forward instead of a winger or a midfielder, Icardi should be at least be considered.

Let icardi do it for one season in Italy without self-destructing with his latest Latin lover chapter. Turkey league doesn't count for anything c'mon man. Pretty sure even MLS is a step above lmao. He hasn't earned anything and this isn't even coming from a concern about his personal relationships but strictly his level as a player. Most of his goals there weren't even special just a bunch of tap-ins with zero defending

Adding to his, with his current form, I'd rate Icardi ahead of Gio Simeone, Joaquin Correa, Lucas Alario and Nicolas Gonzalez.

There are clear better options, starting with Julian and Lautaro. And it might be time that some young guys start getting a chance; Carlos Alcaraz, Alejo Veliz and maybe Puch.

But all that said, its nice to have Icardi in the back-pocket just in case.

Can you imagine if River had decided to pay for Leo’s medical treatment rather than believe he wasn’t worth it? What an embarrassing thing to live with. Nevertheless, he probably would have completed football by now.

A Icardi-Dybala partnership would be worth a watch in Roma. I hope Dybala stays and with Icardi and his goals, they’ll make a push for the league. Napoli will lose their prized assets, Juve are a dumpster fire, Milan will probably have to sell some players and Inter will be the only real viable threat to the Serie A. I say why not? I could easily see 15+ goals for Mauro. He hardly ever is injured and I believe Mou could help him.

Alario is finished with the seleccion. Tucu is somebody that Scaloni likes for whatever reason. But maybe he does get dropped. Nico Gonzalez is playing well right now, so, he will be looked at. And I agree about the youngsters. Veliz I like, he’s a forward’s forward. Alcaraz needs to go on loan. No point in playing in the Championship.

That's like that guy who turned down the chance to sign The Beatles because he believed guitar bands were finished.

Icardi plays a different role than Nico Gonzalez and J. Correa. Alario at this point is out of the picture.

So really it’s just a matter of dropping either Lautaro or Julian to make room for him. Gio Simeone makes the most sense to drop, but he’s not really a part of the team.. more of a peripheral player.

Thats been debunked. Messi himself confirmed that River were keen on signing him and willing to pay for his treatment, but Newell’s stubbornly refused to sign his transfer.

“Yo estaba en Newell's y fui a probarme a la escuela de River, en Rosario. Uno de los chicos iba, me dijo de ir y dije que sí. Después me trajeron a Buenos Aires.

River’s media influence is clearly working overtime to “debunk” that story. I get it though. I think it worked out for all of us, plus we do not have to hear River supporters talking about how the greatest of all time played for their club.

Anyway, I’m talking to a Tigre supporter here. You guys have Galmarini as an idol, your football opinions don’t count :D

I'm still trying. They divided the ticket sales into 3 days , 20,000 per days. The first session of the ticket sales was yesterday but it sold out in less than 8 minutes! So I'm not holding my breath but hopefully I could get two tickets!

Call me a cynic, but as I've stated before Laporta is not to be trusted, he strung Messi along before, then bombed him out of Barca at the last minute when Messi thought he was flying back to sign a new contract. I see something similar happening now, where Barca will keep saying 'we're going to make an offer soon, just a few days away, just another few days' then when Messi gets fed up and decides he can't wait any longer and agrees to go to Saudi, Laporta will release a statement saying that if Messi had just waited 1 more day Barca would have presented him with an offer.

Lol, that looks like it is in someone's living room, but I think Liverpool signing of Mac Allister is imminent.
