Leaving Chelsea this summer it seems and going abroad.

 

Not mentioned on the FA squad page only their upcoming fixtures but there are under 18 matches next month. Norway on the 9th June in Lisbon is the first and there is also an Australia match and I think an a Portugal match.

 

That Man City bench is pure weird tonight. One semi major and three fringe seniors, the first choice goalie then a few academy products. Meanwhile the starting line up is a very strong one.

Very experimental but also notable that Macaulay, Sousa, Phillips and Blake have all been involved with other countries and a bunch of others are also eligible to, so a good opportunity to bring them back into England surroundings.

Playing against Portugal in Portugal after recently withdrawing from a Portugal camp?

If so it is curious and you’d guess something must’ve happened.

 

Maybe losing Balogun has finally made the FA determined to keep as many as possible.

 

Im not sure what they could’ve done to persuade him. It seems more likely there was a bad experience with Portugal.

 

Anyone's guess really, seems to be a starter for his team NE Revolution, I cant imagine they'd be prepared to release him especially when its not for the U.S (of course this is pure speculation).

 

Their manager said he had a knock, he didn’t play in their last game.

 

Yeah it’s pretty unlikely he would be released mid season for non FIFA/UEFA run tournament when until this weekend he played in every Match of the season (On the bench only this weekend because it was only two days after the last Match I imagine.) His team are doing pretty well as well - currently 6th in the combined table.

 

I’m waiting for Fabrizio Romano to announce he is in the squad after he announced Jamaica’s interest.

 

other than giving him a a rash of competitive caps there wasn't much we could have done there, he's had 1 good season in Ligue 1 and he threw his toys out that he wasn't called up, he may not even make it in the prem let alone be good enough for England

 

I wonder if he does have a British passport or if he will vanish again in the autumn when the competitive matches arrive.

 

Seems silly to be picking players without a passport. For a few edge cases of players who move here at 12, 13 who are waiting to become eligible ok that's fine, but someone like Sousa who's been eligible for a passport for years, if they still don't have one they're not a serious option. Particularly given the FA will no doubt do all the background stuff for application if players have any interest.
