I know. For me the worse thing, though, is conflating high fees with high quality. Look at the chavs and the skanks, in recent years, just to see why you shouldn’t buy into the hype. For this reason, despite what most are claiming, Bellingham isn’t worth more than the £70 million which Tchuoaméni cost last season.
Which is why Adams at $20m or something might be worth a punt even with his injury record. He wouldn’t command high wages and *shouldn't* preclude other investment in the midfield even if he turns to dust the instant he’s under the care of the Liverpool training staff
I think he's worth a bit more than that especially to a PL team because he's English. But I do see where you're coming from.
Hmm, interesting comment. Dominik Szoboszlai: " "It will definitely be a special moment to work under Klopp, just like with Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho. Anyway I'm not sure what they want from me."
who's he? edit: ah, he plays for NU. can't say I've ever heard / seen his name before. edit 2: his wiki page is contradictory .... says he plays for NU in the preamble but nothing else about them. edit 3: I give up
Fabrizio Romano RB Leipzig win the DFB Pokal trophy and it was a special night for Christopher Nkunku and Dominik Szoboszlai. #RBLeipzig Nkunku will join Chelsea in the next few weeks, deal agreed in December. Important bids expected for Szboszlai as PL clubs are following him. We've not been linked with him so I'm not too convinced we're seriously interested in him though it seems he wouldn't mind coming to us.
🚨 Alexis Mac Allister to Liverpool, here we go! Full agreement completed on the contract — understand it will be valid until June 2028. Five year deal. #LFCLiverpool will pay the buy out clause in the next days, way less than reported £60m fee.Medical tests in 24/48h. After Alexis Mac Allister with medical booked this week, Liverpool will focus on more targets to rebuild the midfield. 🚨🔴 #LFCConversations took place with agents of Manu Koné and Kephren Thuram. Gabri Veiga, appreciated but no bid or talks advancing yet. Step by step. pic.twitter.com/L0eCBpHOyc— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) June 5, 2023
we seem to be "linked with" and "in pursuit of" and "interested in" and "in discussions about" almost every midfield player there is. and many of them would be damn good signings I think. getting confusing. at this point I really want the business to be completed asap.
I guess that was his release clause? very good business, and very encouraging. holding my breath to see this become officially completed now.
seems like Leipzig are taking a serious run at signing Carvalho. a very talented lad but it simply hasn't clicked for him has it.
I’m going to love the MacAllister signing a lot more if we can also land Kone and Thuram. Our midfield lacked athletic ball winners with pace last season. MacAllister doesn’t solve that. However, if we sign those types of players to be around him, he could be the perfect signing. Because MacAllister can do a little bit of everything at a very high level.
I truly don’t know how MacAllister compares to Bellingham footballing-wise. Maybe Bellingham does have that X Factor for winning games in the way Gerrard did, but I find it difficult to believe that, if the quoted prices are the real, I do find it difficult to believe that Bellingham is 2.5-3 times the player MacAllister is.
And the new name - Gabri Viega from Celta Vigo - apparently a hot commodity with a very low release clause. Apparently we lead the race.
Normally I'd find this very interesting, but who knows these days - players trolling clubs does happen (looking at you Bellingham!) Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone and Nice star Khephren Thuram, the son of legendary France international Lilian Thuram, have both been linked with a move to Anfield. Khephren, 22, has attracted attention from the Merseyside club after making 48 appearances in all competitions for Nice this season, scoring twice. The midfielder has fuelled speculation he could be on his way to Liverpool this summer after 'liking' a post on Instagram about Mac Allister's deal to join the Reds.

Or when he doesn't start right away, while learning the "Klopp way". Once Robbo FINALLY took Moreno's spot, I (we?) were all like, "why has it taken so long?"
Liverpool are keen on signing yet more midfielders after they finalise a deal for Alexis Mac Allister, with Wolves’ Matheus Nunes still a name of interest. No thank you. Liverpool and Chelsea are believed to be in a straight shootout to sign Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia this summer. Yes, please. Juventus are set to terminate Arthur's contract this summer following a disappointing spell at Liverpool. A sh*t situation for him, having been moved around without success since the Pjanic swap. Pundit Dean Saunders has urged Liverpool to try and sign West Ham United star Declan Rice this summer to solve their midfield crisis. I'd love him up to 70m, but he's not going to be sold for that. Liverpool are reportedly entertaining the idea of making a bid to sign Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie. Pass. When players are content to go to the biggest club and then sit around, I question their mentality. And we don't need somebody who is not 100% of the right mentality. Liverpool is reportedly leading Newcastle in the race for Gabri Veiga, with the Celta Vigo star likely to have played his last game for the Spanish club. Yes, please.
