Geez. If this kid had landed right and taken off at Man City....alas... I expect nothing from him, but would love to be surprised one day.

haha yea.... especially since these dudes will retire in a few years haha..... its like fk I got 40 more to go
5 points to anyone who can even pronounce the team names LOL Marlos…a cautionary tale to all the u20 guys who hope to get signed to a team in Europe.. Wish I can even say what happened or what went wrong?
Marlos was part of a winning Copa Libertadores championship squad and even had minutes playing with the senior NT so it wasn't like he had 5 seconds of fame. He was a legit star in the making and then it went all down south after that Euro signing, It's not like he had 2 wonder goals in a youth world cup and he was immediately brought to fame.
He actually WON that NT appearance with an assist in La Paz and it was key to helping us qualifying for 2018! Right after winning that Libertadores. This kid is Montaño level disappointment for me. He was either juicing or absolutely got the yips in Europe. I get that he was mishandled and loaned about but considering his performances before the move he should have been dominant in those loan spells unless something else changed.
Yeah I remember he had an assist or goal with the NT and some of us were ready to crown Marlos as a starter and JC11 as a sub. It’s sad how some of these guys just flame out for whatever reason
Obviously at the end of the day it's on the player, but signing for such a big club and then constantly bouncing around Europe for a young Colombian is a terrible path to take. I think its a cautionary tale that giving teenagers to much to fast can have big downside consequences and keeping expectations and their environment consistent is safer for their development.
It's a catch-22 though. Some of these teenagers can also be contract tied at some early age to some shady agent that is looking to sell them to a 3rd division Spanish side as soon as they have a chance. So at least if you're going to fail, you might as well do it with a big name rather than just being sent to some off-the-wall club in Asia and lost forever before you turn 20.
marlos? obviously making loads of money by doing nothing so he's going to ride it out and let it expire before signing for Kansas or Portland or Queretaro
Yeah! Just thinking how long that contract could possibly have been that they would still be beholden to him!
