https://sports.news.naver.com/news.nhn?oid=421&aid=0006713745 This is full of BS. CMK needs to go. Sports writers are also full of BS. They need to cover this story more than the KMJ burnout but they have not done that. That's why they are referred to as 기레기.
Incompetence and KFA unfortunately go hand in hand. What qualifications does CMK bring to the table (nepotism aside) that benefits Korean football?
Mong-gyu brings nothing to the table of Korean football. Greed and power is all he knows, the KFA's gonna KFA like the POS GOP. After being burned by Fifa twice on trying to get elected to the committee, he's desperate for a position that will put more money into his pockets while at the same time he's trying to hold onto his seat as the KFA's president since there's another POS trying to gain that seat.
According to regulations of Korea Sports Council, no invidual can be elected as a KSC member organization head more than three times. This is CMK's third term as KFA president so he cannot be re-elected for the next term.
The latter isn't any better though. I'd rather have Chung Mong-joon back or perhaps Cha Sr. but we all know he won't do it.

Thoughts on the whole P2W from the desert league on not only English club ownership, but also old proven talent in the top 5 leagues AND even young rising talents? It is hypocritical that there are lot of Europeans who got their panties up a bunch because SA is pulling away their talents when their own leagues have been doing the same with S. America and other lesser level European leagues. I find it bit alarmist though, because the top 4 leagues still have a degree of prestige and pull power to bring in the crème of the crop to their leagues if those players have actual ambition to both develop and achieve fame/glory anyway. There is also the question of whether this will last long enough for it to materialize into a serious league like the premier league. They are going farther with this than the CSL for sure, but only enough as far as their oil reserves will allow them. Ofc as we all have a good idea of this already on this forum, this has negative ramifications even for some of our own talented future young prospects, with some of them possibly selling out, securing the bag early from the desert league. Factoring in the military conscription & piss poor pay in Korea, many will unfortunately choose to secure the bag. This also means that whatever hope we had for our NT becoming stronger will be sabotaged indirectly due to the desert league oil money to an indefinite degree. We will have to pray either our future talents will still be driven by the prestige of playing in the EPL and other big European clubs (like SHM) or those people who chase the bag somehow still succeed in chase the dream of winning major European trophies once they run their contract down (or bought out) like KMJ. Unless the players fall reliably under these two categories, I support the KFA to bar any CSL players and riyal chasing frauds from representing the KNT. There is also the underlying fear that our talented hopefuls who struggle a bit, due to factors beyond their control, just says f*ck it and secure the bag from the desert. One silver lining I've realized in this is that with the desert taking away some of the talents from the top Euro leagues, maybe this will force these leagues to expand their net even further by seriously digging deeper into our region for younger talent, like the K-League perhaps? Anyway, these are for my current thoughts!
Good writeup. These major financial expenditures have never worked out as far as I've seen from NASL and the Chinese League. I'm curious what the long term vision is for Saudi Arabia if anyone knows. From what I understand, these transfers and wages are subsidized by the government so thats the key difference from the other league failures. In 10-20 years time, if there is continual massive spending, maybe it'll be the most competitive league in the world and we wont have to worry about talent being wasted.
True that this isn't going to last unless they have some kind of real sustainable business model like the EPL does with their TV broadcast rights with a far outreach. English being a popular language really helps as well. However, in those 10 or 20 years, if good number of our talented prospects sell out their early careers to oil money, I fear for the growth and strength of the KNT....
They should sell out while they still can. This insane salary inflation isn’t going to last forever, and playing in the desert league alongside Ronaldo is better than rotting on Arsenal’s bench or playing in empty Kleague track stadiums…
If you put it that way, then we aren't even talking about players who are going to be at a level of quality to become our future stars lol. Now imagine someone like LKI rotting at PSG and take the desert oil money in the end....
Oh yeah I wanted to actually bring up his name, but couldn't remember lol. We need to hope that cases like him don't become the pattern/the norm. Otherwise the KNT is never going to fulfill its full potential in the near future.
All of this on top of their players and even new signings getting injured. Good lorddd are they cursed. It is like the shady history of the club is coming back to hit them back as karma. Ironic that their emblem is that of a devil. Glazers are far far worse than Levy and that is saying something. I hope no Korean players bother to go to this club in the future as long as the Glazers are around. Kim Min-Jae dodged a nuclear misile here. Hopefully Kim Ji-Soo also get a clue as well, since he said that he is a United fan. In The Last 3 years at Man Utd: • 3 Women now accusing Antony of assault & one set to do a TV interview on it. • Sancho statement saying he is being scapegoated. • Whole Greenwood situation & how awfully Richard Arnold handled it. • Takeover being dragged on (creating… pic.twitter.com/0i3hghopHf— Alice Abrahams (@AliceTalksFooty) September 7, 2023
