Starting to think we need to fire Flick before we can hope to do anything, he’s just a continuation of Low. Same weak mentality, same lack of variety in build up play, same reluctance to use a proper CF unless forced, same favouritism of certain players and now same tactical system defensively that didn’t work. I take it he intends to use Gosens & Wolf/Henrichs as wing backs? If that happens how does he intend to fit Kimmich, Can, Gundogan, Wirtz, Musiala & Fullkrug in? With a back 5 one of those will need to be dropped. Those players are all necessary to give us our best possible balanced xi right now imo, if Can doesn’t play (or plays CB) we again don’t have a proper DM.
Imo our strongest area is the midfield. We need to play a system that exploits that. If we use a 4-3-3 that enables Can to play as #6 alongside Kimmich and Gundogan, with Musiala & Wirtz (or alternatively Havertz/Sane etc) supporting Fullkrug. Surely that’s our best chance of success right now?
