The clearing out of all the dead wood is nice. I hope this campaign forced Madrid heirarchy into action finally. That turtle chase did some serious long term damage to this club with its transfer strategy basically stagnant. Endrick won't be here for another year. A stop gap is sorely needed.

Fran Garcia and Joselu are useful. The former fills a much needed LB position and the latter is the third highest scorer in La Liga this campaign. But there is a serious depth issue among forwards with Asensio and Benzema leaving. Harry Kane is the name being floated but I'm not entirely sure how he will gel with the team. English players aren't exactly the fastest to adjust to Spainish football's technical style. Hopefully Jude will arrive as well.

For a backup keeper, Lunin has been given more than enough chances. He hasn't impressed me so far unfortunately.

He's 29, costs only 12M and his current salary is just 3.8M. Not saying he moves the needle but we currently only have Vini and Rodrygo. Interesting option perhaps?

What’s the point of spending a ton of money on Kane, Havertz, Joselu, Brahim? It’s like 2009 was a shopping spree at a quality luxury boutique, and 2023 is shopping at that dumb ass store the Michael Jackson loves that is expensive rubbish.

Id take Dybala for 15m over Kane for 115m every day of the week.

we don’t need to spend 300-400m in one transfer market for depth. Basically we’re acting like Farca doing dumb shit like that.

    Nope.

    Kane>>>Dybala

    By that logic

    Di Maria>>> C. Ronaldo

We already own Brahim and Joselu is coming as a backup and also to fill cantera quota. But if you need to use them to make your lame joke work go ahead I guess.

Just stop moaning and crying about transfers that haven’t even happened yet in every other post, I’m trying to keep up with the posters who post actual news and rumours and interesting opinions.

You’re missing the point. Kane is a better player but at 10x the cost? No way.

Dybala missed +35 games in the past 2 seasons! He's a massive risk. I wouldn't take him as a free agent.

IMO Kai seems a good technical player, could be a decent addition to the team but the price is high, and like Marco I’m not sure what his best position is

I still don’t get your view, so we don’t get the best available player now because of the cost just some cheap version so that you can complain about the team and the coach all season long when they don’t meet your expectations ? When do you think we’ll be fine, when we buy Erling and Kylian and get whoever the best coach you think is worthy?

No, I’d rather we not spend big and adjust expectations accordingly next year. We’re unlikely going to win anything with the Kroos/Modric duo and Carvajal/Mendy.

Bellingham is a great transfer at 100m or whatever, but buying Kane for 115m and Havertz for 70m? That’s not moving the needle for us to win a CL next season.

Save the 200m on an attempt to get Mbappe or Haaland next summer who are real impact players.

Age notwithstanding, Dybala is a rich man's Havertz. But if we weren't interested in him last year when he was free and a year younger, I very much doubt we will go for him this year.

But it just goes to show how the market isn't nearly as dry as people like to believe. Nicolas Jackson has a 30 million release clause, he should have already been signed. Same with Veiga. Quality fullbacks are everywhere and there are potential gems at St like Hojlund or Goncalo Ramos who if we were to scout properly we could acquire more easily than Kane and might even do a better job long term.

What is really a turn off for me about Kane is that he barely makes any pressing upfront. Benzema for all his skill hustled like a maniac (which sadly contributed to his decline).

And theres so much more out there. Kvarashkrelia dreams of Madrid. Theres Diaby, Kudus, Gouiri, Sesko, Angelo, Dia... so many opportunities. Start with getting Jeremy ********ing Doku, Florentino. He'd be the steal of the decade.

So does the di Maria>>> CR7 example.

Thank you for proving my point.

Not to mention one is fairly unreliable. While the other is exactly what the team needs.

And the save the €200 for the perpetual dream of Mbappayed and Haaland... Good luck with that.

Now the example you’re giving is Kane is the equivalent to signing Ronaldo back in 2009? What’s your point? ADM was never as good as CR7, we all know that. You’re delusional if you think Kane is good as CR7.

So when was Dybala as good as Kane?

    More specifically as consistent.

Never said that. My point was Dybala at 15m is a better transfer for value than Kane at 115m.

By position alone, this doesn't even make sense. Kane is a ST. Dybala is a SS/AM.

The club might as well play Rodyrgo there who has a better upside than Dybala, and is also free.

    Let alone the fitness issues.

Kane, Bellingham, Havertz, Fran Garcia, Joselu (free) will be our summer imo. That's close to 300 M. If Brahim is not keen to return, might sell him permanently to Milan.

Dybala instead of Havertz would make sense, but club seem keen on the German due to his age and how highly several key figures rated him 2-3 years ago.

Kane has 21 CL goals in 32 games. 213 PL goals in 320 games. He's a proven scorer at every top level.

Bellingham and Kane will be the 2 biggest signings of this entire transfer window. But we should rather punt, pass on Kane and wait for Haaland 2028? Having Haaland or Mbappe is not the only way to win CL/La Liga.
