I'm commissioning someone to reanalyze the match to see if we hit the possession number. I don't trust the official report.
Certainly but for me it shows what we can do offensively if Farsi isn’t out there. I am not anti-Farsi but I feel like a lot of attacks have died at his feet.
Doran made a point several times during the broadcast to mention that Ramirez did not get an assist on Arfsten's goal. If that is true, how can that possibly be true? Yaw's work on that goal was exemplary, by the way.
A yellow Crew jersey is perfect for amusement parks. When you inevitably separate because kid A wants to do this ride and kid B does not and kid C is nowhere near tall enough, spotting the yellow jersey from a distance is such a delight. Look at kid A, what a champ: https://i.imgur.com/iFqBLzY.jpg
That was true for a while, but right before the second half got under way, the PA announcer did state he had been given an assist
Nordecke seemed packed, glad to see no one was scared off by that brief lightning delay. Gotta love 6 points from 2 games. I really wasn't expecting Arfsten to do so well, huge props to him for being thrown into the starting lineup and then doing so well. Crew's last 6 league games: 2-2 2-0 2-3 1-3 3-2 4-2 Somehow or the other we only scored 1 against Nashville. This is not a boring team to watch.
Beats the opposite, right? Not just because it's a lot more entertaning. It's also easier/cheaper to build a roster that can defend than one that can score goals.
Especially if they're designed to wick sweat away. You gotta dress smart when you go to those places.
A better team exploits Arfsten more defensively. If Farsi is healthy, I start him. And if Josh is healthy, he has to play somewhere. Otherwise, I agree. Schulte; Zawadzki, Moreira, Amundsen; Farsi, A. Morris, Nagbe, Yeboah; Cucho, LZ; Ramirez. If Farsi is out a bit, I'd go Matan at RWB. Diaz & Arfsten also shouod get PT there. Moreira wouod be the best option,,but not with our CB situation.
Props for getting on the train. But less points for pretending you were the conductor. Someone else was saying it long before that. I wonder who that was?
From early March: Kyle Crew said: ↑ We really need someone opposite LZ to be a ball carrier, allowing him to be more of a second striker. LZ is slow, and never beats anyone on the dribble, like… ever. I’ve been saying this for a bit. He’s just as slow as Pipa was at the end." My reply: We lack speed, size, and great passing in attack. None of our top 3 rates high on any of those metrics. Not a great combination. Cucho has decent speed. LZ & Cucho have great shots from distance & are crafty with the ball at their feet. They are decent passers, but do tend to favor high risk/low probability passes and shots from deep. I'd like them better if there was an actual CF in front of them instead of Cucho up top & Matan/Molino behind. Sands, Farsi, Diaz, and Medranda don't exactly strike fear from wide."
True Crew said this as well “For me, I think it may be time to get off Zelarayan and Cucho. They will get this year to see what they can do, of course. But I do not like the pairing.”
In March, I said The Crew would be 7-3-6 after 16 games, while sitting in 5th place, with Lucas as our top scorer with 7 goals and 7 assists. … I can’t find the post though
That is one idiotic letter to the editor. Perfect timing on it being published, as we celebrate 2 great Crew wins in a row. Comparing The Crew to the Bluejackets and Browns is a real reach. Some people do not understand the dynamic of bringing in a new manager, and the time it takes for that new manager to sort out, and build a roster. Oh yeah, we have people on Big Soccer with that issue as well.
The Columbus Crew have won more championships in the last 15 years than the Browns have won PLAYOFF GAMES since 1999. And the most recent one was in 2020. If that guy who wrote that whiny letter is actually a Crew fan, he should either be embarrassed for himself for being stupid, or needs to have life support disconnected for lack of brain activity.
