It is also not the players. I believe the coaches just do not know how to have teams ready for important matches.
When the total play is stupid the coaches are almost always to blame.

It’s great that you have that magical belief that cannot be disprove.

 

Some good, some bad. We're not outclassed or anything, but some of the untested elements were exposed here. Craig's lack of speed, some of our player's midfield decision-making (in this case, Luna), Wynder's lack of experience.

Wollf and Wiley were also both pretty poor, and really hurt the build up and execution.

Paredes should come in for one or the other.

I see a lot of criticism for Halliday, but he was one of the few players who could create any danger and he was active defensively despite Uruguay targeting him. I wouldn't say he was great, but put someone in there instead of Wolff and I think it's a different story.

 

Whatever dude. Who’s moaning? The players are typically ignorant of how to play at this level to the ref and the ref is also inconsistent.

 

We need to stop the long throw. Not only because it never works. But it also smacks of desperation.

I'd go Wolff off for Paredes, Halliday off for JoGo at HT. Possibly later at 60' take off Wiley and shift Paredes to LWB depending on how the game goes.

I came here to post pretty much all of that. Uruguay had the better opportunities and deserve the lead, but they’re a good team. There’s no need for panic, but varas needs to make some changes at half. We are controlling the run of play for the most part, but not nearly good enough in the attacking third.

I will say that our guys look a bit nervous.

 

Agree with you on Wolff. Disagree on Halliday.

 

this game is being played on uruguays terms....not sure the us knows how to change that

man for man uruguay is not the better team....

but they are so much better as a collective and strategically...and that makes all the difference.

whomever is playing scared needs to be taken off.

 

Uruguay presses knowing what pass we are going to make and are waiting. Their coach knows exactly how to play us. They are not allowing Cowell any space to run.
We need to change things a bit.
