I mean the guy with the ball would have had a free shot on goal if he doesn’t move over. 1-1 with the keeper. I disagree it’s a simple defensive decison.
Uruguay has come with more intensity than the US. After short rest can they keep it up for 90 minutes? Do the figure they can game away time in the second half, because . . . Uruguay?
Well the team is missing 3 of its best 4 attacking players over the past year (Paredes, Aaronson, and Sullivan) It wasn't noticeable earlier on, but it is today mostly because our opponents have been utter dog ---- until now. I also don't agree with a few of the starters (Wolff, and Halliday in particular). Hopefully some of these guys prove me wrong, but we look like we brought the wrong lineup to a match against a team 5x as good as all our previous opponents (and they're missing like 3 or 4 of their best too).
Uruguay players are snuffing out every single buildup pattern the US attempts, and are frustrating them. A more innovative approach will be needed.
My knock on the attack for our team is that our final moves are too direct and obvious. It worked against lesser teams but we will need a more creative spark, more guile, more deception to break down this Uruguayan team.
ive literally never seen anything from wolff or halliday that makes me think they should be on the field
I definitely think take Wollf off, ineffective. Wiley and Halladay underwhelming, might leave on Halliday. Craig’s lack of pace exposes on the goal. Got turned on a nice wall pass and was never in the race to catch up after that.
Wolff's been good at times in MLS, but I haven't really seen it with the U20's. I don't like that there intensity is clearer than ours. They have 2 days less rest and are missing multiple guys with cards. It's ridiculous that they are beating us to 50/50 balls, and playing with greater anticipation than we are, but they are.
Yeah, bbshawn is on point, and the whole "save it for second half idea?" Why. This hasn't been working all half. They should have made at least one change 20 minutes ago.
Aim your moaning at our players, not the referee, who are giving away free opportunities like it’s nothing.
this is a good time for varas to show me what a lot of you see. we are going to have to win this one, not just fall ass backwards into it.
