LUIS MURIEL WITH A BEAUTY FOR ATALANTA! 🎨 pic.twitter.com/1S5ZtWfNbU— CBS Sports Golazo ⚽️ (@CBSSportsGolazo) April 7, 2022
Poached a sub goal in the final moment of Atalanta loss to Sassuolo this morning. Tap in after a defensive lapse at close of game.
Put on his overall today, created both goals so far for Atalanta beating the right back to put penetrating balls across box for Passalic (with aid of a deflection) and Zapata (for the tap in). Update: and adds his own to make it three! Good for Luis!
2 goals and 2 assists today by Muriel. 4-4 draw with Torino The more impressive stat…. Homeboy played the full 90 minutes!!!!!!
great stats for today, but i'm curious what does it mean by "successful dribble" luis muriel vs torino:2 goals2 assists17 accurate passes6 key passes60 touches1 successful dribble3 accurate crosses1 accurate long ball3 times fouled☄️☄️☄️ pic.twitter.com/hG0p5YicTh— theexplicitgame (@theexplicitgam) April 27, 2022
This season is such a frustration! Atalanta should have put this away at 2-1. To end up at 4-4 with two pens and an OG donated to Torino.....
Muriel being linked with a potential move to Fenerbache this window. As the Turkish window closes later they would still have time to close a deal. He will be a free agent next Summer. He picked up a knock over weekend and did not even dress for Atalanta 's win over Monza. Duvan will likely be out of the line up with his injury into the international break, so this WOULD have been a great moment got Luis to get minutes.
If I was in Luis's shoes I would have tried to cash in last year, still probably worth doing now to get one more good contract if he can. He's had a good career in Italy but you have to imagine he didn't maximize his earnings which is fine obviously, but at this point maybe smart to lock down the last contract as you hit decline.
Muriel in MLS would be a good move for him - he would make good money, put up good stats and even play the full 90 minutes more frequently
Waste of a start for Muriel today...Atalanta had the lead against a weak Cremonense side and a Musso blooper gifted them the tie.. They slide from first to third on goal difference.
Luis with crucial assist today on the deciding goal in Atalanta's win over Fiorentina. They co-lead the league. Luis Muriel puts it on a plate and Ademola Lookman eats. 🍽The Nigerian international has his second Serie A goal. 🇳🇬 🦅 pic.twitter.com/7YzNtZ4999— CBS Sports Golazo ⚽️ (@CBSSportsGolazo) October 2, 2022
I'm pretty sure the Paramount announcer said Atalanta is the top defensive team in Italy this year, based on goals allowed. I'm too stunned to even check. Hope they keep it up, Duvan gets healthy too.
Beautiful assist for Luis to Lookman for Atalanta against Udinese. UPDATE: Now draws penalty AND converts from the spot. This is Muriel's best game in a while and happening in a vital match. Update 2: They blew a 2-0 lead when they subbed him out and tied. Now sit second in table. Duvan still out injured.
Muriel starting today at home vs Sassuolo. Still no Duvan on bench. RWB Brandon Soppy is like a time machine channeling a young Cuadrado out there for La Dea, could see Juve targeting him if C4 does force a move out. Update: 2-1 win for La Dea with Muriel on field for 60 or 70 minutes. He seemed really upset coming off the field and had played ok though it's really Soppy and Lookman who are making a huge difference this season. Boga looked awful today as a sub.
Muriel scores as a late sub to give Atalanta a 5-2 lead over Monza. The victory qualifies La Dea for the Europa League. The goal makes Muriel the all time Seria A scorer from substitutions.
Forgive me, not Luis's goal... But you guys need to see this golazo by Koopmeiners! TEUN KOOPMEINERS ARE YOU SERIOUS?! 🤯The Atalanta midfielder catches Monza's keeper off of his line and has one of the best finishes you'll see all season. 💫 pic.twitter.com/YjtwkwRdZl— CBS Sports Golazo ⚽️ (@CBSSportsGolazo) June 4, 2023
