Alright, barring a few playoffs in far flung lands, what’s done is done this season. So what are we looking for this off-season? The dissolution of Leedsamerica. Looks like literally all three players had relegation clauses. Very smart decision. And I think all three will be met for Adams, mckennie, and Aaronson. where is moneybags Flo Balogun gonna end up? Stock is incredibly high right now where’s golden balls pulisic gonna end up? Italy? Man U? Newcastle? where is dest gonna go after being cast off by Barca and ac Milan? where are Moose and Weah gonna go? If anywhere? will our GKs get loans or permanent transfers? pepi to feyenoord or PSV? will Tim Ream be at fault? is Marsch gonna get Monaco? Is berhalter gonna get Swansea?

There's still plenty to play for in La Liga and Belgium tomorrow, by the way. Celta Vigo (de la Torre) is in a real relegation battle, while Valencia (Musah) technically isn't safe yet either. And Genk (McKenzie) play Royal Antwerp (Vines) for potentially the championship, or at least a Champions League qualifying spot maybe.
shiiiiizzzzzz you’re right jumped the gun by a day. I shall beg bs fir forgiveness upon any jinxes, except Valencia, of course. That would be a badge of pride relegation.
first order of business: flo isnt short for folarin. if balogun is too much to type we need some sort of concensus for a nickname.
come on, Flo from progressive is a drunk 6.5 I’ve used careful and extensive Chico state calculations to arrive at that conclusion 6-7 Sierra Nevadas in and tell me how you feel on that review
Oops posted the same tweet twice, meant to post this one for the wingers 1665102298995994625 is not a valid tweet id Balogun himself wants to be called Flo, it's not some nickname fans came up with?
fair enough. cristian pulisic and tim weah are garbage players who would be lucky to play for fc cincinnati...oh, my bad. mods, move this mls flavors of the week...
What does MLS and Cincinnati have to do with Yanks Abroad like Pulisic and Weah? Are you doing okay, do you need to talk to someone?
Luton town is basically Ohio, transitive law. You’ll experience that a lot this year. ohio/Luton come for the meth. Stay, because you’re hooked on meth
The tweet claiming forward is now a position of strength because of what Balogun and Pepi did this year makes a weak argument considering most of the other positions are manned by guys playing in better leagues.
At what point does a good to great season in a weaker league overwrite a bad season in a better league though? Put their NT status and American bias aside, Pulisic and Weah did not have good seasons. At all. There is a reason both are going to be on the move.
Weah has played left back. And he played a lot. That's a good season, club wise. Pulisic played very little because there was very little for Chelsea to play for. With mid-table mediocrity secured rather early this season, they had no incentive to play a guy on the way out. I really like Balogun but Weah is one of only two Americans who looked capable of threatening the goal in a WC match during the past 9 years. I am hoping Pepi continues to improve, but Pulisic is the best player who has ever played for the USMNT. So I am very pleased with the seasons Balogun and Pepi have had. But that still means very little compared to the USMNT careers Weah and Pulisic have had.
I see where you're coming from and it's fine for now. I'm definitely not suggesting we shouldn't start Weah or Pulisic or anything this summer. But personally that attitude feels like it's dipping a bit too close to complacency for my taste. How long we going to be holding onto what happened in the past? WC is already almost 8 months away, practically a full club season. We going to be reminiscing about that 0-0 England draw for the next 3 years, or what? I just don't want to get to 2025, and still be making lineup decisions because Weah threatened the goal a couple of times 3 years ago, you know?
The tweet said they need to be better next, not that they're garbage. Who could possibly disagree that they need to be better next season?
World Soccer math Auston Trusty Auston Trusty: Arsenal defender now 2nd most valuable USMNT center-back | Transfermarkt Hence, while Birmingham have had a disappointing season, Trusty and Arsenal might significantly benefit from the loan move. In fact, during his time in the Championship, Trusty has seen his market value increase from €1.8m to now €10m. In other words, the €1.8m paid for the defender to Colorado Rapids will almost certainly turn out to be an incredible investment by the Gunners. "Incredible". Yeah.
People understand that Flo isn't a fan-made nickname, right? Like Jedi, that's what people call him in real life. Also, it's apparently fo-lar-in bal-o-gin -- with that last G being "hard" like in begin. Not said like "gun."
First order of business will be which Americans will be on the move this summer? As it stands now, watch for these players to be on the move….. Christian Pulisic (needs to make the right move) Sergino Dest (he’s been in purgatory) Brendan Aaronson (club got relegated) Tyler Adams (club got relegated) Weston McKennie (club got relegated) Zack Steffen (needs a permanent move) Haji Wright (time for an upgrade) Bryan Reynolds (time for an upgrade in loan or better club) Erik Palmer-Brown (club got relegated - would be a smart MLS buy) Alejandro Alvarado (isn’t playing - would be a smart MLS buy) Tanner Tessman (get out of Serie B - would be a smart MLS buy) Gianluca Busio (get out of Serie B - would be a smart MLS buy) George Bello (needs to get the hell out - would be a smart MLS buy) Matthew Hoppe (just come to MLS?) Joshua Wynder (Benfica?) Auston Trusty (full transfer to Birmingham?) Ethan Horvath (full transfer to Luton?) Matt Turner (needs a loan) Gabriel Slonina (needs a loan) Jonathan Gomez (needs a loan) Caden Clark (needs a loan or figure out if he still wants to play soccer) Johnny Cardoso (Betis?) Chris Richards (maybe) Tim Weah (maybe) Gio Reyna (maybe) Alan Sonora (isn’t playing at Juarez) Alejandro Zendejas (could move abroad) Malik Tillman (too good for SPL, not good enough for Bayern) Brandon Vazquez (time to leave MLS - there should be interest and Cincinnati look ready to move on) John Tolkin (time to leave MLS - he’s way too good for this league) Daniel Edelman (rumors have already started he’ll leave MLS) Cade Cowell (have to think that clubs are taking notice and he could stagnate if he doesn’t leave) Jesus Ferreira (he’s entering in the now or never territory) Miles Robinson (same story)
Yes but obviously Flo doesn't yet realize that some random USMNT fans on a message board don't approve of his name, and will be assigning him a new one
going down your list, my light bulb flickered on and off as follows: EPB - Championship would be the place to get paid and play plenty of football which is what he needs. Tessman - keep on keepin' on. Busio is better than what he is given credit for. Brainy type that some Jupiler team could use (think Kljestan). Gio Reyna - stay at Dortmund. Cade Cowell - La Liga if MLS sales price would permit. Miles Robinson - Bundesliga
I wonder if Arsenal will consider sending Trusty to a French team. It worked well with Balogun. It would give Trusty a chance at a higher level. Might build his value further. Or course if a great offer to buy comes through they would be foolish not to take it. Trusty meets my eye test for the national team. He, Robinson and Richards are probably going to be our main dudes in central defense this cycle.
