Canada with two additional dual nationals on their Gold Cup provisional in Zac McGraw and Brandon Cambridge.

Neither are close to the USMNT but I believe Cambridge is Olympic eligible.

Half the posters will blame Juergen when we lose a dual Nat, and the other half will blame Greggggggbg.

Well we're bound to lose what seemed like a sure thing at some point. We've poached more than our fair share

Zac McGraw graduated from West Point notably. I'm pretty confident if there was any chance of him playing for the US that he'd be holding off on going for Canada.

    I believe that's a record for multi-eligibility.

He's in the Detective Work thread now. There's only one source tagging him as American and we are hoping to get a firmer confirmation.

Under FIFA eligibility rules, I think the theoretical upper limit for a 17-year-old is eleven. That's if the player, parents, and grandparents are all born in different countries, one of those countries is the US or UK (the only two with five or more FIFA member associations), and the player manages to become eligible for four additional associations within the US or UK through residence, which I believe is the maximum possible by age 17. (Live in three for three years each before age 10, and one more for five years.)

Aidan Morris should definitely be on the Gold Cup roster. Maybe he should have been on the Nations League roster, certainly over Alan Sonora who hasn’t done anything, and given there is only one #6 in Johnny Cardoso…

Why are people, not dual nat panicking with this player?
Remember that we don't have many right-wingers. Our best right winger is getting turned into RB.
This could be a big loss. He will be playing 2nd-tier Spain.

Because he just got provisionally cap-tied to Italy. The assumption is he'll ride that train for a while until he can't. For him to switch to Canada now wouldn't make much sense. There's no real danger of him being cap-tied to Italy anytime soon.

Heck... I think he deserved the NL call-up over Musah. We always hear about how club form matters... but Musah has played pretty poorly for a long time now for Valencia. The 3 minute red card was just the calamitous end to a very bad 2nd half of the season. Both he and Sonora have done nothing to warrant the nod IMO.

Except for how they play in our set up. As long as club form doesn't translate to the national team, nobody really cares beyond being bummed that club form isn't improving. Pulisic might have been lost at Chelsea but he contributed to every goal scored at the WC except for the Wright goal and was near the top of goal contributions in qualifying despite missing a bunch of games. The same is true for Weah. A big zero for Lille, but hugely important in the shirt.

If Musah is fine in the shirt, and he has been, that he's been poor for Valencia is irrelevant. It's only when it carries over that we have such discussions.
