Shame Alvarez didn't get on the pitch even for a couple of minutes today, Haaland,(and Grealish), was garbage today. But another medal to add to his collection

I've always said that Laporta is someone not to be trusted, he used Messi to get elected then ditched him once he became President of Barca. I don't believe he ever had any intention of re-signing Messi, he was just playing to the gallery. I was hoping Messi could play another 2 seasons in Europe, but it wasn't to be. Still will be funny to see him win a title in Saudi Arabia just to wind up Ronaldo.

I would rather see him in the premiere league with another argentine team mate, even if he wasn't competing for the CL. He would get the competition he derserves, would be able to train for copa, and it would be fun watching him go against pl competition.

After everything he has achieved and then winning the WC, everything else from that point is pretty much a sidequest.

For sentimental reasons it would have been n7ce to see Messi have a farewell season at Barca, especially the way he was bombed out, but anything now is just a bonus.

Simeone scores a golazo & celebrates with an old Maradona shirt. Angelito with a brace & Lamela with a goal.

Montiel also picked up an injury. Let’s see how he recovers or if he will be replaced for the friendlies.

Yeah, I think he’s gotten a surgery on his shoulder.

Icardi with another! Give this man a call!

On a purely technical level, Dybala is just outrageous - better than Aguero, Tevez, Saviola, Caniggia, Batistuta, Crespo, etc.

I am glad that he is a World Champion.

Argentines with most goal + assist contribution (only league stats). Goes to show you how out of this world Messi is.

I think the best version of Dybala I saw was at Palermo. At times, he was unplayable. He played with such freedom and love for the game. I remember talking about him here between 2012-2014 and I was a bit worried because the Italians wanted to cap him. I'll say this much, if the Tanos did cap tie him and Icardi, they sure as hell would not have missed 2018 and 2022. But nevertheless, they still need to stay the hell away from our kids.

While he often came on as a late sub in national team and only featured in two games during the WC , he made one crucial clearence in ET against France and scored his penalty.

He also scored in Finalissima and Europa final. Another crucial contribution for us including winning assist against Uruguay in qualifier (away) and winning goal against Chile in Copa 2019.

Imagine if he actually play full minutes for us in at least 70% of his caps. Instead, we ended up giving extended minutes for Pavon , Meza , and past prime Higuain in WC 2018 while Dybala only played 20 minutes the whole tournament.

Watching the farewell Real Betis fans gave to Joaqhim , that should have been the send off Messi got at Barca.

I come here for Argentina news, players and local Argentina player team/player news, but you get 3 guys talking about NHL stuff every so often. That throws me off. :coffee: You wouldn't expect it.

Baby! the Icardi Island is population 2 (you and me) but its still here.

I believe in redemption. Even for a guy like Icardi. And when he is transferred to Napoli this year after Napoli sells Osimhen to Madrid, I will be there cheering him on.
