And Pep on track for his treble, though Inter will be tougher than most predict I think. ManC wins 2-1 over ManU
We're also only the second team to come back from a two-goal deficit to win the UWCL. Wolfsburg did it in 2014.
I thought a country could only send a maximum of 7 teams to Europe (?). And we already know 7 from Spain. I recall 2 years ago Spain sent zero teams to the Conf league when Villarreal or Sevilla won EL. But the relegation fight is really interesting.
Barca B has turned a 0-1 deficit into a 2-1 lead over Real Madrid B just before halftme. Caught the LPB defender napping on the second goal. Only the first of two legs though. Damn, Laporta is not getting any thinner.
I knew the same but then last year happened and Frankfurt won EL while finishing 11th so Germany had 8 teams https://kassiesa.net/uefa/data/method5/ccoef2023.html
Benzema leaves RM. Look like they will replace all veterans this summer and spend big. We better prepare this summer too or else it will be troublesome season ahead.
I have no idea how Saudis throwing so much money helps them but you can't blame Benzema Even for rich guy like him 400 million is probably more than how much he earned in his career
Unfortunately we don’t have RM money right now in order to go for the marquee signings that would actually move the needle for us. I’m sick of seeing us linked to washed players or anyone on a free. I wonder which pivot to replace Busquets we are going after. Those are massive shoes to fill and it’s an equally massive important role in this team. Even though Lewy has done well for us it’s still a fact that he’s up there in age and the drop-off can be steep and fast at that stage. My dream replacement for the long term is Alvarez. I also hope we can get rid of Dembouz and we can maybe try for Kvara. We also need a true RB.
Mbappe for me. I hope until 2025 Barca will have - I will now use an American term term - cap space by then.
I mean, I guess I should have said realistic dream. Haha. Mbappe would be epic. Even if just to soak in the RM tears. His dream is to be a RM player though, and after the way he screwed them over last time he might feel indebted to them. This is why I want Alvarez.
Here's an interesting argument for why Mbappe to LPB won't go through - it has to do with image rights.
Maybe. But LPB will have to spend a lot just to replace the guys that are leaving. Kane in for Benzema, for e.g., will cost what, like $100mn? Bellingham in for Kroos will also be a net minus $70mn or so. These 'swaps' will make them younger, but not really better.
Hoping Man Utd does a PSG and swoops in to grab Kane from LPB's grasp. I always got the sense that personal stats meant more to Kane than maybe other players and he'll need to stay in England for 2 more seasons to become the all-time top goal scorer in the Premier League. If he gets it, I expect his record to last for a very long time.
*Looks up and down the Inter Miami roster...* Hmmm, don't recognize any of these names......... Oh wait! Right here! Messi! I've heard of him! Yedlin sounds familiar too. In a maybe/kinda/sorta way. I wonder when my Teruaki Sato Hanshin Tigers jersey that I ordered will arrive.
Lol Anyone watch Benzema 's opening speech at the home of his new Saudi club? Painful, fake and awkward af! Speaking of fake, Ronaldo chimed in on it too commenting that the Saudi league will be one of the world's most important leagues in 3 years. yeah...ok then. In the league's best year ever it still got outdone by MLS.
Cristiano has spoken! That ringing in your ears are the warning bells sounding! The big European leagues had better start planning on adjusting their fixture kick off times to avoid clashing with the juggernaut that is the Saudi Pro League! The Premier League's status as "The Most Popular League in the World" is about to take a major hit!
UCL final soon. I think City will win but i hope Inter can make a miracle. Sorry Pep, it is hard for me to think City win UCL and the treble
Yep, same. Go Inter! Not that hopeful, but just glad those lucky bastards didn't fluke their way to another CL final. Not that they were even that close mind you. Watching the build up in Instanbul now (on TV). Quite a lot of fans around the stadium grounds already - 7 hours before kick off. Gonna be a long day for the losing fans.
