Gareth Bale was the face of NBC’s first season broadcasting the EPL. Times Square advertisements, TV spots. Even birthed Ted Lasso coaching Bale at a Tottenham practice. Then Gareth ********ed off to Madrid. Not necessarily Daniel’s fault, but it was very Spursy.
I don't buy that argument. Romero, Sanchez, Dier and Davies are all good enough to play in the world cup. Emerson and Lenglet have played for Brazil and France. They play at the highest level but when they play for Spurs, they suddenly don't know what they are supposed to do. I never played organized soccer, but I'm pretty sure there's more to defending than "just go out there and run around a bit." Like coaching. Newcastle's back line do not have the resumes of Spurs', but they gave up 33 goals compared to our 63. Don't get me wrong, I think we need upgrades. But the "system" has been part of the problem.
That was the first thing that popped into my head, as well. But that was either a Premier League promotion, or more likely, an NBC one, but certainly not a Spurs promotion. Presumably the 'Summer tour' that Golara is speaking of is Spurs' summer tour, and that is something that the club, and not the League or a televiser, is promoting. So I'd guess Golara's point is relevant. Further, I'd guess that Levy was quite pleased to see NBC's utilization of Bale in his Spurs kit the way they did. That would have been letting both Bale and Madrid know that it wasn't done until all the Ts were crossed and the Is dotted, not to mention having the club visible in the burgeoning new market - even if only briefly.
International football is much different than the PL. In the vast majority of their games, teams like Argentina, Brazil, France and England are playing inferior sides that pose little or no threat to their defense. The PL is a completely different ball game. Dier, Lenglet and Davies are simply too slow to keep up with the movement of the opposition's attackers. Sanchez has pace and strength but is too dull-witted and mistake-prone.
That is an unpleasant thought, but the lure of working with Poch, trophies and not having to leave London. It’s all a bit too perfect. I’m not even sure I’d be angry like I was with Sol. Perhaps a commentary on my age or a commentary on the Tottenham organization as it currently stands (though it was worse with Sol, so probably just me being old)
Lamela and Gil win the Europa League, swelling the ranks of ex-Spurs/loanees winning trophies away from Tottenham.
Lamela did his best to concede unnecessary free-kicks to Roma in the last few minutes. Even threw an unnecessary elbow in the hopes of getting sent off. He really tried to help Roma win in ET.
The guy is a walking shithouse. I miss him, just wish he wasn't injured all the time here. If he'd had pace he would've been truly world class. Must've been a bitter pill for Roma watching an ex-player of theirs score against them.
We should hire Harry Redknapp as a special consultant to sell off our rubbish players. I could see him outside the stadium, car boot sale style, hawking away: 'Roll up ladies and gents, get yer semi-used PL players right here from Uncle Danny & Son! We've got Colombians, Frenchmen, Englishmen, Welshmen, bin men, Spaniards, this lot over here played in a CL final ya know! Buy any 2 defenders and get a third absolutely free! Act now before yer club gets relegated!'

Rumours of Kane to Real Madrid now that Benzema has left. Hazard's gone too which will have freed up a load of money for them.
Kane's going to have to go on strike to get out of Spurs, like Berbs, Bale and Modric before him. If you're quality and want out, it's the only route. I support his strike, if it happens.
