Or maybe a Sunday evening but ********ers close at 7 and I never know when I’ll get off but we definitely need to get together
Back to 189 Been trying to cross that 190 pound mark for a while but can’t get there lol now going to Europe for a trip for like 9 days. It will be interesting to see how I maintain out there
thats why usually I skip gym on weekends, I can't deal with the ultra early closing times. we'll figure it out also how are you here so often when you live in orlando, thats a 3 hour drive at minimum
So I finally got around to going back to the gym. I weighed in and I'm at 258lbs, I'm already on my 4th day in but I'm losing the motivation easily already, hopefully if I just turn my brain off and just go i'll end up going consistently. On that thought, what is a good cardio machine treadmill, bike, eliptical?
Routines take time. At first you need to force yourself to do it, later it becomes routine and you do it without thinking it. The hardest part is to start, you already did, keep it going. I like bikes and elipticals, they are not so stressful for my knees (I do enjoy running, but again, knees). If you like doing cardio, just do the one you like.
cardio is cardio, don't need to run if you don't want to either. Just start off with walking if its hot as hell where you live like it is for me then use a treadmill and just keep a slow steady pace but just pick one you like as he said
as for me, my life routine has shifted recently so im trying to figure out a way to hit the gym consistently again as well as looking for ways to eat lots of food without going broke since im ready to begin gaining weight again.
A good way to keep motivation is to put your day to day workouts on paper or excel spreadsheet. It helps me be more accountable and helps me track progress. I think all 3 are good machines. I personally like the treadmill. Elliptical is probably the most low impact. https://www.healthline.com/health/fitness-exercise/elliptical-benefits#benefits With the bike - make sure you adjust it appropriately, bc the wrong settings, seat height, alignment can do damage to the knees.
Don’t quit man Let it become a habit. Just something you have to do just like you have to eat and sleep I like the stairmaster gives me the highest return on calories burned and it’s low impact on knees and back
can't believe how skinny I am now, I lift my arms and I can see my ribs also first time with no love handles what so ever in probably 8 years or so
Well I went in again today, per my tracker I’m averaging about 700-900 calories burned a day for an 1hr - 1:30 hr at the gym. Coming back from injury is not easy, but I already feel more energy compared being sedative for the last 12 months btw is 700-900 calories decent? I remember I my hay day I used to average at least 1500 calories
according to my calculations your maintenance calories should be about 3870 kcal 700-900 calories is way more than enough, so to lose weight aim for at least a deficit of 300-500 calories a day in other words; 3,370 cal should be your goal to maintain a deficit of 300.
700 to 900 calories workout is a strong workout brother Most people hover around the 400-500 mark so good job. If you can get that Gad boy up to 1000 you are winning you will burn another 2000 by just being alive and moving throughout the day so a decent diet, nothing even drastic, will end up in you being in calorific deficit and you’ll see weight drop pretty fast
The diet is the hardest part in my opinion. But small suttle changes, is helping for sure. I am consuming more fruits when I get sugar cravings. The problem with fruits is that they run out fast since in my household everyone eats love them. I'm not jumping into freeweight rightaway, I'm mostly just using cables and machines (chest press, shoulder press) 1-2 reasons why 1. I need a spotter, I'm too scared post injury to use the bench press(i mostly refer to this) and I do not know if I have good form for the dead lifts.(Therefore Im doing more Roman Chair Back extensions) 2. Too many people using freeweights, I don't have the time to wait. Additional comments, because of the nature of my weight, I can no longer do leg lunges, I lose balance now. So I may need to drop a few until I can restore balance.
yeah the diet is the main thing, above all else. At first is hard, but you’ll find that you’ll get used to it I haven’t drank a soda in years and I don’t even miss it. Your body adjusts As far as the weigh training, cables and machines are a good weight to get back in a routine. To get the muscles activated and build that muscle mind connection and then you can move on to other things once you are more prepared both mentally and physically just stick with it man. It always works
