Great match up vs Italy. Will be fun to watch. If I had 1 main critique it's our Defense. Mantilla looks awfully slow and not as confident as in qualifiers specially when challenged by a pacey forward/striker. OCampo is a legit liability on defense and so I expect plenty of attacks on his wing. That Italy #10 Baldanzi is super talented. Puerta and Torres have to work smart together in that MF.

Little Angel will hopefully create an impact like his father.

I mean tbf, this is U20's. Other countries like Venezuela, Ukraine have won the WC or made it to the final. So Colombia making it far wouldn't be too unrealistic at this stage.

Ocampo genuinely freaks me out though, this man commits so many fouls dangerously close to the pk area, to the point where I question whether he should really be starting.

Ah I didn't realize; his dad and I are the same height.

Also let's consider that it didn't stop Falcao and Messi when it came to scoring goals. Especially Falcao with headers.

Aristizabal was 5'9" and was a regular on the National team and Nacional team.

Entertaining matches today. Despite the results it was seemingly gonna be a day filled with goals; Uruguay however wasted more golden chances than what we typically meme ourselves to miss.

Honestly anything can happen in the next round.

This is a bit late, but here is my comment on the Slovakia game:
Brilliant game. To be honest, they were a very weak rival during the 90 minutes; only luck caused them to finish the first half in a goalless draw. Not that I'm not impressed, but we won't take too much from this match because they are really weak. It's not the result like the match itself. We should have scored a double-digit score with all the misses. But the most important thing is that we gain more confidence + we are in the QF.

Italy is a whole different story, yet not invincible. At least in these ages, it's time that Colombia will see themselves as favourites. They should be scared of us, we have a very talented group, and I hope they'll continue with their great run so far.

I believe that we all saw that Angel would be the first choice not only in Colombia but in Nacional too. Cortes became Cortes, and Puerta is the boss in the middle. Hope for two good results on Saturday: We vs Italy and Israel vs Brazil :p

I am glad the 1st half was 0-0. If we had scored 2 or 3 in the 1st 10 of the 1st half like we did in the 2nd. Could have seen more cards. Not saying the other team played dirty or would but no one wants to get scored on 6+ times especially when representing their country.

wish we had another #9 other than that Hurtado kid. The 1 on 1 miss

We didn't have an own goal like the 1st 3 games but we did fall asleep when they scored. We need to be less naive. These guys all are pro players that stuff shouldn't happen. Not only are they playing for Colombia they are playing for their futures. This thing has a ton of scouts of the best teams watching.

Hope Korea beats Nigeria (who beat Italy and Argentina 2-0).

we have 45 million people + a 1st and 2nd division leagues. You mean to tell me we didn't have a striker better than Hurtado? Other than Duran(who got what we needed at this cup a Euro transfer)

I'll give you one better. Remember that Hurtado is actually the 'upgrade' we got. We started with Caraballo who was just awful. Hurtado isnt that bad for U20. His positioning is actually pretty decent and he does link up OK now and then. But he lost the position to Angel, which in turn has to bug him, as Angel didn't even get the qualifier call up.

we would have won quilifiers with Angel. the 3 strikers they had were laughably bad.

super disappointed with the kid at Barca. Hope he still ends up a good player in the end just the hype for him was crazy for someone who wasn't very good.

I really hope that they can get take full advantage of their win last round; they need to have the mentality and confidence to beat Italy...it's vital for our next gen that these players make it as far as possible. Our youth players be it here or elsewhere need to have a generation of players that can open a lot of doors for our future.

Beating Italy is essentially making us very capable of winning this thing.

I am trying to stay positive. Remember the last time there was a Sub 20 tournament in Argentina we won it in 2013 (Sudamericano with JuanFer/Cordoba/Borja/etc.)
Let's get a win in Argentina again!

Dude I am shocked that Israel is actually giving Brazil trouble. They're getting more confident the more they play.

I don't know if that will be enough but they're very moviated. It's admirable.
