    Which is nice. I mean, the Lower Saxony Cup may be restricted to RL and 3 Liga sides and maybe Vfl were the only 3 Liga side in the competition, but it's still a pot to piss in.

    So congrats to Osnabuck. 5 times champions!

    The far more interesting news is that Osnabuck finished 3rd in the 3 Liga standings and therefore, you may say, are in the promotion playoff slot.

    Well, no. Freiburg II finished 2nd and, being a reserve side, are ineligible for promotion to BL2 so Osnabruck are going up automatically instead.

    Marc Heider will play in BL2 next season

    Update:
    It seems that Heider is actually retiring on July 1st, finishing his career by helping the club he started out with 20 seasons ago to promotion, on the final day of the season and in extra time. Extra time in extra time in fact.

    A nice, emotionally satisfying ending for a career.
