Some of the best Madrid accounts I've noticed are not those of actual reporters.

My thoughts as well. Versatile, can play across the front 3. I wanted him here when he first left Leverkuson, and apparently we were seriously interested if not for covid.

But I don't think he's going for 30. Think double that minimum. He's still 23 and he still has loads of untapped potential. Chelsea know that.

It was a different era when La Liga was on the rise with a young Messi. CR7 wants to take on the world. Now, La Liga is in trouble. Barcelona is a Europa team.

Absolutely. Just not in 2024/25. Maybe in 4 years. That's a long time for a "stop gap" while losing sight of what's attainable right now.

Also very excited about the Karim news. Huge sigh of relief. That would have been an absolute disaster of our own doing. All thanks to Karim for turning down that offer. Absolute legend.

I have no problem with a stop gap named Kane.

Man what about Kolo Muani? He's lethal business. Though Benzema unfollowed him last year.

We shall see. If we don’t sign anyone like a Kane, the door is wide open for 2024. Timing is never predictable and 4 or 5 years is an eternity in football and he’d be 29 in 5 years from when you say - we typically don’t sign players that old. There may or may not be an opening then. Haaland will be 24 next summer and we will have a new manager, Bellingham whom he is very close to and Vinny next to him who is going to only assist more goals for him. I don’t think it’s a done deal, but a compelling sales pitch to him.
I’ve said it before but I’d take Haaland over Mbappe every day of the week.

So we're going to discredit every reliable source amd believe MARCA of all people? They also said that Benzema was going to leave and now they're saying he's going to stay. It's almost like they told the information they had, but the situation changed unexpectedly in the last few hours. Football can be unpredictable like that.

I don't know how perez managed to convince Benzema to reject that offer and stay. There's literally nothing in it for him. The money is no where near. He already won everything there is to win, collectively and individually. One more year at Madrid is much more likely to hurt his legacy. His physical decline is obvious and undeniable and fans are extremely fickle and will turn on him if he's not playing well.

Maybe he just agreed to stall for a month until we sort out a replacement without paying desperation fees? I think that's much more likely.

Benz is from the streets, loyalty is huge and he’s like that. Glad he’s staying, just rest the man appropriately through the season so we get the best.

I don't think being from the streets equals loyalty.

Past days just.. wow. So Benzy not leaving now? Good. But it's funny to see rumors, because now every striker in the world is 'On RM's radar', according to press.

Kane is going to Man UTD 97.2736%

Also, he's never played outside the UK... I have a feeling he'd start feeling very homesick very soon.

I hope the surprise departure is Carvajal. That would finally force the club to look at our RB situation which has been dire for the past few years.

I’m so desperate to have a better right side next year…..

With Havertz, Benzema, Rodrygo and Vini Jr fighting for 2 or 3 places and Bellingham in the middle, Real Madrid will be fine.

The big question of the season is how Ancelotti will deal with Modric's departure from midfield. He ended the season exhausted, couldn't keep up the pace against City and was substituted. It would be great for Real Madrid if Modric goes to Arabia. Coming from the bench he could be excellent, otherwise could hurt the season. I've seen many great players bury a team because they didn't know when to stop.

Real Madrid will also need Rodrygo to be more consistent throughout the year. RM really needs another winger like vini jr. Rodrygo may be the man, but he has to be more solid

Doesn’t look like the type to get homesick.

He went through hard times in his early career so I’m sure if he has his mind on a move abroad he will do what needs to get done to be successful.

His mentality is very good from the interviews I’ve seen. Very self reliant and self critical. I remember how he responded when he missed that second penalty against France in the World Cup, he didn’t hide and didn’t offer excuses, he just accepted it. I respect the guy a lot.

    Id love Kane here

He can still score but also provide that playmaking that Benzy got us used to

JFD: Kane enters the scene as a Real Madrid target

The meeting between Flo, JAS and Ancelotti has served to outline the next squad
    https://www.marca.com/futbol/real-madrid/2023/06/02/6479879a268e3e8b5f8b4604.html

    - Club thinks a reliable offensive option is needed regardless of Benzema staying. Kane is the main objective. Havertz was discussed but he's not in the list of players Poch wants to get rid of. Levy might sell Kane due to contract situation and having no European football.

    - Joselu will be Mariano replacement which is not a major role. Brahim's return is certain with Asensio leaving. He's open to returning now.

He is the reigning BDO, of course he still believes he can play at the highest level and add to his collection. One more year (if we play it right and win trophies) will extend his legend. Nothing but respect and admiration for Karim, hes built different. An example for every footballer out there.

Kane doesn't make sense if Benzema stays. Its essentially the same player, the slow linkup forward. Hojlund is someone who would be a great complement to Benz.

Also Havertz is kinda meh, he's another pedestrian tweener who does many things well but nothing great, and has questionable mentality as well. Nicolas Jackson would be a better addition. And if we want that type of player, Olise and Kudus are better choices.

I feel Poch will revive Havertz' career. He will flourish in Deli Alli role. Makes sense why Poch wants Felix out and keep Havertz.

With the Kane news persisting, is it at all possible Benzema reached an agreement with Florentino that he would leave only if the club was able to sign a replacement?
