This makes it easier for us to plan for next season. If this summer is an exodus of of fringe players next year is going to be a huge exodus of legends. The club was loyal to him when he needed it and he is now loyal when the club needs him. Get Firminho, Bellingham, Joselu and a RW and we are set for next season.
Brahim Diaz can be that RW. We dont necessarily need a starter level, or better to say, no starter level that is feasible so we can use Rodrygo, Diaz, Fede as the third forward/4th midfielder.
Benz, Vini, Bellingham, Camavinga and (healthy) Fede should be starters. That leaves one spot for Rodrygo and Tchouameni. Then there's Kroos, Modric and the question of how much they will play. Brahim, Ceballos, Joselu for depth.
maybe, we will not know. But we are bringing in Bellingam, Firmino also will take load of Benzema and I belive Rodrygos output will be even higher next season
Asensio - 9 goals & 6 assists in La Liga, 3 goals in CL & 1 assist. Brahim Diaz - 6 goals & 7 assists in Serie A. 1 goal and 1 assist in CL. Bellingham - 8 goals & 4 assists in Bundesliga. 4 goals & 1 assist in CL We lose Asensio's goals, but adds two decent scorers. Also adds Joselu instead of Mariano. Fede was also a good scorer before Papu tried breaking his knee.
Brahim has played alot more minutes than Asensio. Asensio is also a proven goalscorer that you can rely on to get you double digit goals a season. Brahim is still an unknown and his best output is still worse than a meh season by Asensio. Joselu will add a few goals which is great but how many minutes is he going to play. Would much rather get a guy who would guarantee us similar output to Asensio or just settle for Arribas from Castilla.
Brahim played 400 minutes more in the league. Brahim also adds dribbling ability which Asensio totally lacks as a winger. Asensio had 3, 6, 1, 5 league goals in 4 seasons excluding his ACL injury season where he scored 3. Asensio became a reliable scorer in last two seasons with 10 & 9 league goals. Btw only Relevo and Cope have said Brahim is returning. Several others said he wants to stay at Milan where he has a lot of game time. So let's see.
On paper the team should be fine. But in reality, Karim's form and fitness would determine if Madrid would be an elite attacking team or subpar.
Can we change the thread name to this? I think its an appropriate moment for that. I thought Benz was gonna burn out a long time ago. But he’s not one to write off easily. He still has a bit left in the tank, that’s why it should be used more sparingly to a devastating effect. He is likely one of the highest IQ forwards in history and he can still use this to cover for his physical decline. Benz knows what his priorities are. Hopefully after this season he knows one of them should be to preserve his body as well as much as possible. But rejecting the Arab money at this point is as badass as a move he can pull, regardless if it was Florentino who convinced him or not.
Benz has put himself one tier above a lot of the recent legends at the club. He will be in a different "legendary status" tier when he leaves this club, fact.
Despite all issues, all the veterans (Benz, Toni, Luka, Dani) love Madrid. It's a shame Ronaldo and Ramos couldn't control their egos; they could be on the list.
So Benz stays ?, right, so back to regular programming, thanks for your loyalty Benz but, can we still get Kane to compete with you so that we can bench you and prolong your career, first ordinary game, he’s trash, we should be benching him and starting Alvaro or Joselu or Firmino or Havertz or whoever is here blah blah blah
We'll see if this pans out. If Karim further deteriotates, and no Kane, then thats on management. Or Karim regains form. Let's see.

❗️Karim Benzema left today's training session early because he felt discomfort in his ankle.— @relevo pic.twitter.com/125v6TqU2u— Madrid Universal (@MadridUniversal) June 3, 2023
I mentioned this a couple of times..... it is still likely that Benzema leaves but we are not announcing it yet to be in better negotiation position for the new striker. And I would but Kane even if Benzema status. First, Benzema will be injured if he has no reliable rotation. Second, next year we will need a good striker
That is not how Florentino's Madrid works. If the club knew Benzema was leaving they would be milking it with presentations galore
Tbh, I don’t think Benzema is staying. I think there is too much respect between him and the club. He’ll likely announce he’s leaving after the final game.
