Arsenal have an option to extend Martin Ødegaard’s current contract until June 2026 — but negotiations will take place soon over new long term deal. ⚪️🔴🇳🇴 #AFCØdegaard loves the club and Arsenal want Martin to be part of their long term project. pic.twitter.com/mpgqCeXBq7— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) May 23, 2023
Can confirm that Arsenal new proposal to Reiss Nelson is for contract valid until June 2027 plus one year option. ⚪️🔴 #AFCShort term deal was discussed and then rejected weeks ago. Seeing claims that the delay in getting Saliba resigned is a disagreement in agent commissions for the deal.
I sometimes find myself thinking of Arsenal under a different manager, not because I'm dissatisfied with Mikel (far from it!) but just because... So here's an idea that came back into my head in recent weeks: Thomas Frank. Obviously he would change our style a bit, but that might not be bad. We've seen him use counter-attacking, and more direct play keyed off Toney as the point man, but also some pressing and more patient possession ball at times. And he's shown a knack for tactical flexibility, based on opponents, rather than one rigid "this is how we play" kind of thing. And that flexibility can also be in-game. Not to mention that his pressers are refreshing in their thoughtfulness and frankness. Pun intended. Next season will be very interesting for him & Brentford, especially with Toney's suspension. If he continues to do well, and depending on what happens with Mikel, would a move (up) to Arsenal be a good fit? Discuss?
No way !! Arsenal played the best football anywhere in the world last season ( and the previous) .. it’s unparalleled and I’m a long time Barca fan !!
Tonight I watched latest episode of Lasso, which featured Pep at their stadium. And without giving too much away, I kept reflecting on what coulda/shoulda been, for us this season. On the flip side, I finally uncorked this bottle of Malbec my wife bought for me all those years ago and I said I'll open it when we do something worthy. As the fallow years went on I decided that the 4th place trophy would be good enough reason. So finishing in 2nd, trailing only what some consider the best club team in the world, after an amazing season the likes of which we haven't seen in nearly a decade, is more than good enough. How was the wine? Well, it wasn't perfect, but it was also far from vinegar. I suppose it lost a bit of quality towards the end. A bit like our season perhaps.
This was mentioned on an AV podcast, but thanks to the Juve point deduction, Arsenal sneak in as the last team in Pot 2 in next year's Champions League. So that means avoiding the potential of being in a group with 2 really strong clubs, like Bayern and Madrid. Assuming City beat Inter in the CL final, the clubs in Pot 1 will be City, Barca, Napoli, Bayern, PSG, Benfica, Feyenoord and the EL winner - either Roma or Sevilla (can't draw City, obviously).
I just can't see Spurs selling Kane, Levy is too big an idiot. Would rather lose Kane on a free when they run his contract down and have $0 to spend, rather than sell this season while he has stock and let the new manager have around $70mil to buy some players.
… and what’s your source.. . are you the brother of a premier league player ?? Exactly !! We all get rumours from the fecking media .. I listen to a few sporty radio stations , all the ones on the telly and scour the internet.
It’s one of my sources .. they have transfer shows for all of Europe and South America and get foreign correspondents and agents ringing in with snippets of info . I simply pass these onto you guys .. so I have no fecking idea why I get so much crap for sharing rumours ..
be fair, it is your source of footy info. I don’t know you for it at all. I am still miffed how anyone could listen to Talksport still, but that’s not the point. My point has always been that you should source where you are hearing things. And personal style wise, it’s just weird that you relay it as if we are hearing it on the radio and not reading it on a message board. Also, you should read the thread because a lot of the stuff you hear from Talksport was already shared on here. I think your lack of engagement with this thread is probably what irks me.
I jump around from forum to forum .. It’s odd really as I usually get stick on some forums for posting stuff from Twitter
William Saliba seeking improved offer from Arsenal.Sources insist that Saliba is NOT trying to force his way out of the club, but he wants a contract befitting of his status as one of the best young defenders in the world.@90min_Football https://t.co/Q6e6cccbfv— Graeme Bailey (@GraemeBailey) May 31, 2023
Arsenal finished 3rd in the grand finale of Ted Lasso. That’s no spoiler. But the show itself caused me more than a bit of reflection on the season Arsenal just had. No, the 3+ seasons we’ve had under Mikel. Supposedly no more seasons for Lasso and AFC Richmond. But Arsenal? They’re an open book.
Speaking of Ted Lasso, looks like Arteta‘s art is appreciated there, too. I knew Beard was a Gooner, but nice to see him subtlely giving props. A mimic of Mikel Arteta’s iconic passion, clarity & energy team-talk done by Coach Beard on the season finale of Apple TV’s ‘Ted Lasso’. ❤️🧠@brendanhunting, who plays Coach Beard in the show, is a massive Arsenal fan & regularly attends matches. 😅 #afc pic.twitter.com/5tzXXvMrRK— afcstuff (@afcstuff) May 31, 2023
32 and hasn't been good for a hot minute. Not sure he would be a smart purchase. 22/23 - 7 appearances in the EPL this year, 2 in the CL. 21/22 - 26 appearances in the EPL, 6 in the CL.
