This matters to some more than others, but Brown played (started and went 90) for Germany's U-21 team this past week against Kosovo in a Euro U-21 qualifier. That provisionally ties him to Germany and he would need to file a one-time switch to play for the United States. That's certainly possible, but I doubt he'd switch so soon after possibly carving out a role with Germany's U-21 team. He'll probably want to stay on this path for awhile before he'd consider leaving.
