Au contraire, Pierre. I think this is a good break for young Miguelito. He was done and done here, buried so far down the bench he needed to pump in daylight. Rooney will give him a clean slate, a chance to start over and prove himself. He's never going to be Harry Kane, which was the hope, but he can still be Conor Casey. Maybe he'll be born again talented. I wouldn't hold my breath, but one thing is certain: he was done in Columbus. I will say though that if anyone in the Crew FO thought there was much chance that the guy was going g to start lighting it up, they sure as hell wouldn't have traded him to DCU
Isnt Wayne Rooney already there, kinda making decisions already and stuff? I know he hasnt coached a game yet, but from the moment he was signed, I would imagine theyve ran any roster acquistion targets by him. They already have Kamara, Robertha, Estrada, and Fountas depending on what his future position will be. I wonder if Rooney specifically wanted him to work with? If thats the case, that could really bode well for his future, being coached by a former star player. Probably better off in the hands of a Landon Donovan (San Diego) or Wayne Rooney, than Caleb Porter if youre trying to improve your game quickly since your not a kid anymore.
Miguel Berry is Black-and-Red!Welcome to D.C. United, @MiguelBerry92 👏— D.C. United (@dcunited) July 20, 2022
Berry didn't get a raw deal! in fact they gifted him an opportunity and he failed to capitalize on it. He will be another Tommy Caveman/Shoenfeld/Adam Bedell/Adam Jahn type guy. He'll have a 10 year-ish pro career with some MLS time but mostly in the minors.
Miguel Berry Mega Bus has pulled into the station! https://mls.app.link/tIojGaougAb not sure the link will work. He scored a goalazo in ATL.
For the last two seasons, it was this or talk about Porterball more. I blame a lack of Sheep League. without that as an outlet, energies get funneled into other interesting directions.
