I missed you guys. My kid broke my phone so for the last 2 days I had to interact with my family and stuff. The horror!!
There's some logic with pineapple on pizza because something sweet tends to go well with pork and cheese. But not so well with bread and sauce. A far bigger mystery to me is how Red Bull became an empire.
Did you donate that kid to science for research purposes, or did you just send him or her to their room for the duration?
I had to return to this. I don't recall what I ate in the 60s, but there isn't anything I ate in the 70s that I don't eat now. My tastes have expanded rather than changed outright. What HAS changed is the amount of sugar and salt I use. Because I don't live with my folks anymore, I don't have to load my Cheerios down with sugar to make them palatable. I can just eat Cap'n Crunch and tell myself that I'd have used more sugar in the Cheerios. I don't salt anything much anymore if it's fast, and only during cooking if I cook it. But I have been a fast food man ever since I graduated from HS, and that's gonna catch up with me one day.
I must've missed this on the page turn, but to follow up on Auria, what do you have in mind? I can't think of anything, but that's likely just me.
Here are some distracting news from Argentina. Last Saturday River Plate had a ceremony to honor former standout player and coach Marcelo Gallardo, and unveiled a statue in his honor. Immediately there was controversy about the size of part of Gallardo’s anatomy, resulting in a wave of comments, jokes and memes in social media. A toy company even came up with its version of the statue as a collectors item, advertising it as “well packaged”. Even Gallardo’s former wife chimed in, saying that “Marcelo finally got the size he always yearned for”. River Plate reportedly responded to the controversy by saying that they were considering reducing the size of some parts of Gallardo’s anatomy, which led to a whole new wave of jokes and memes. Its a great week to be a fan of Boca Juniors
It looks like a Botero. Fans not impressed She was inspired by a picture of Gallardo lifting the Copa Libertadores trophy after River beat archrival Boca Juniors in 2018 in Madrid. But reaction on social media to the statue included adjectives such as “horrible,” “grotesque” and “vulgar.” “They invested so much time, they postponed the unveiling and they asked every supporter to make this cheap, tacky, of very poor taste (statue),” River fan Matías Marticorena said. “I would not have unveiled it,” said Mario Rey, an artist and River supporter. “It is out of proportion. One arm is longer than the other, the legs look like elephant paws. I don’t like the finishing. This is a David by Michaelangelo, but done backward.” https://apnews.com/article/marcelo-gallardo-statue-river-plate-42cfc200ea556b46965b5bea64655774
I don't. What I find interesting are things from that time I had forgotten about like the pineapple and lettuce salad. I'm curious about other foods I'm sure I've forgotten and even some I remember.
Haha. To put the icing on the cake Gallardo should put a galia melon in his trousers, walk up to the statue, look at it, look down at his melon and say "something doesnot look right".
So, now the pizza dust has settled here's a new one, Spicey Joe: https://www.stripes.com/living/euro...izzeria-gusto-after-hours-poland-9699718.html https://www.stripes.com › living › europe_travel › after_hours › 2023-04-13 › pizzeria-gusto-after-hours-poland-9699718.html Just how spicy was Joe Biden's Polish pizza with the troops? Yeah, but that would only add fuel to the fire The thing that is upsetting to fans of River (and hilarious to the rest of us) is that this was a legitimate significant and highly deserved occasion to honor Gallardo, and it was a very heart-felt emotional ceremony for Gallardo, the club and the fans... until they unvailed the statue and it all went to hell
Well, not good in my view. Just don't get why its so polarizing.. It's not like they slip it in by surprise like pineapple in tacos. Don't like it? Don't order Hawaiian pizza.
Don't give spicy pizza to the guy who let out a fart in Buckingham Palace that the royals are still talking about.
Actually, I do do this. We had certain candleholders that were absolutely terrible, and I put them on an impossibly high shelf so that no one bought them. Then one day we had a small section of roof collapse from water damage. Even though those candleholders were on the other side of the department, by some unfathomable coincidence they were all damaged beyond use and had to be thrown away. Every one. Oh darn.
