Julian has a World cup winners medal and he got two goals in Argentina's 3–0 win against Croatia in the semi-finals of the World Cup becoming the youngest player since Pele in 1958 to score two goals in a World Cup semi-final. He is already a great success. True, We don't have a system in place for his mate Enzo either OR all the other young expensive players we have signed. We are currently gambling on young players on very long contracts. Mudryck et al. Oh it would have been nice to have had Alvarez as part of our Argentinian contingent. Hopefully our scouts are out there looking for some great new strikers. . .
They bought him before that and can gamble cause the system is designed so damn well. Enzo is the type of player this team was and is missing in the CM but was still a massive gamble (in part to the price tag). We really need to find an identity otherwise we’re just pissing in the wind looking for players.
Jules Kounde (remember that bloke?) has told Barcelona he wants to leave the club his summer. Kounde has grown unhappy with his role as a right-back having played the majority of his career as a central defender. . . .Do we still need another CB? lol Jao Felix said: "I don't know yet my future, but these four or five months, I've loved it. It's a top club. Everyone in the club was very good to me. My team-mates, unbelievable. I really like to be here." He wants to stay. . . should we keep him? another loan? Expensive. Is he worth it? Another wonder kid is a Chelsea target. 'the Gambian hurricane' Adama Bojang [18]. 6ft 3" Striker. The plan is to buy him and then loan him out.
To re-cap. the journey so far. the older players we probably should not have signed. a lot of the younger players would do well to go out on loan. we bought and brought in very little for the NOW Enzo Fernandez Benfica £107M Mykhailo Mudryk Shakhtar Donetsk £89M Wesley Fofana Leicester £75M Marc Cucurella Brighton £63M Raheem Sterling Manchester City £48M Benoit Badiashile Monaco £35M Kalidou Koulibaly Napoli £34M Noni Madueke PSV Eindhoven £29M Malo Gusto Lyon £26M Carney Chukwuemeka Aston Villa £20M Andrey Santos Vasco da Gama £18M Cesare Casadei Inter Milan £17M Gabriel Slonina Chicago Fire £12M P.E. Aubameyang Barcelona £10M David Datro Fofana Molde £10M Omari Hutchinson Arsenal £0 Joao Felix Atletico Madrid £9.7m (loan fee) Denis Zakaria Juventus Loan
Paris Saint-Germain look to have taken the lead in the transfer race to sign Manuel Ugarte from Sporting CP. PSG have made a €60million (£51m) bid which met his release clause. Chelsea have matched it. The player decides. . . on the one hand Champions League Football alongside some world class players in Paris OR the opportunity to play in London for a team with soo many great young players and so much potential. In a better league.
This has been a poor year, of course, but if we can’t keep Mount in the fold next year, it’ll be a blow to my fandom. Homegrown boy, Player of the Season the last two years, on a clear path to wearing the captain’s armband. Right now, all the talk is about who will sign him. A bad year is a bad year, but giving up on Mount would be a huge disappointment (at least for me).
The gossip and the rumours for the day . . . 1) Chelsea have plans to sell Ian Maatsen and have received a firm offer from Burnley. 2) Cesare Casadei has been performing well at the U20 World Cup and the new coaching staff want to take a closer look – before sending him out on loan again 3) Lewis Hall might go on loan to Crystal Palace. Top player. 4) Manuel Ugarte. The club are confident that the verbal agreement will result in a transfer. A new DM might be just the player we need. Selling players and reducing the squad size to follow.
Manuel Ugarte [22] prefers Chelsea and is particularly pleased with Chelsea’s project, he has the chance to play in the Premier League, a competitive level higher than Ligue 1. Mauricio Pochettino told Chelsea’s board he plans to count on Ugarte next season. (@Record_Portugal) #CFC Chelsea’s offer : £52m clause + £4.3m in achievable add ons. Ugarte has meetings with elements from Chelsea soon to understand if they will formalise this offer. Ugarte and Enzo in the middle. Two great players imho. . . .and both so freaking young.
Jermaine Pennant has claimed he has source, and that sauce is telling him Harry Kane would like to play for Chelsea. https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2023/05/...aims-inside-info-about-200000-a-week-striker/
I mean it could be a hoax. He might have been drinking. . . .But. . . .Well the issue always was that Levy would never sell to Roman. But maybe Levy would sell to Todd and our new yanks consortium? I mean. I'd take him. I would not hesitate. I would be in favour. Harry Kane is one of the best strikers in the world. And we truly need - NEED - a striker.
Lukaku is already 30. Lewandowski is 35 in August. Maybe age is not the barrier that it was? For some players anyways. He has one year left on his contract, but he would cost a fortune. Is he worth it? Hard to say. But, Probably. He probably is worth it. Considering the other strikers that are available out there. etc. He scores goals. Knows how to score goals in this league. Has leadership qualities.
If we do close this deal I hope to see Santos go the other way on a loan deal. Get him some PT in a better league than he’s accustom to but not as strong as the EPL. He’ll also find it easier to adapt to Portugal from Brazil then moving to England. We will also need to figure out what to do with Casadei and Chukwueneka. Both need PT and loans.
Is he leaving? AND IF he is leaving is it true that Juventus are most likely to sign Christian Pulisic for £20m? A bargain price. Only one year left on his contract. AC Milan also interested. Giroud is a big Pulisic fan apparently. This season was his worst, even after blaming Tuchel for everything, with just one goal and two assists across 30 appearances (but just 10 starts and around 1000 minutes total). We all know that he is better than that, but those are his stats.
I’d rather he stay, but if he has to go, I’m crossing my fingers for Milan or Newcastle. I’ll still be a fan and I don’t really want to watch Juventus games. Also, if City wants Kova…shouldn’t that make us pause in our desire to move him along?
Yes, I would like to keep Pulisic. He offers something different. IF he has to go, Milan with Giroud and Tomori would be better for sure. And maybe RLC. I would also keep Kova. He is a grown up. We need some grown ups in the squad. Players with experience. We genuinely need them. Yes, our squad was too big, but once you get rid of the obvious players, Auba, Ziyech, the players on loan, the players that should be on loan, et al, it is not THAT big a squad. How to keep them all happy? Well, it is fairly easy with 5 subs per game.
I have no problem seeing Mount leave. He seems to be a shadow of himself and would have no regrets of his departure. If only he knew how to play a forward through ball....
Wow. One bad season in a team of worst-season-evers and you’re ready to write him off? He was player of the season the previous two years.
S#!t. Barring a last minute reprieve, looks like he’s already gone. At least it’s not Arsenal? This one hurts. NGL https://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation...-personal-terms-with-manchester-united-report
