    MVT announces her WC squad on 31st May... and I see no signs of Gwinn, with Hegering already set to miss the end of the season, including the UWCL final....

    And yet MVT has seemingly wasted a year behaving like she's saving a WC place for Gwinn...:rolleyes:

    I know Gwinn a HUGE part of the way Germany would successfully deploy their counter-press during the Euro's, but it always felt like a mistake to see MVT believing Anyomi, or Kleinherne, the best two players to try and re-create the impressive combination Gwinn had with Huth down the right.

    But hey... I hope I'm wrong here, and we'll eventually see MVT does actually have a legitimate plan...:cautious:

    MVT’s sill in better shape then a lot of the NT’s out there;
    France just announced Cascarino will miss the WC along with Katoto(never came back from ACL), Diani still out
    England; Williamson Mead Kirby will miss/Bronze & Bright still out
    US; Macario & Swanson

    Right now my predictions would be(based on MTV’s tastes)

    GK; Frohms Berger, Groh
    DF Gwinn Anyomi Hendrich, kleineheme, Nusken Doursoon Rauch

    MD Oberdorf Leupolz, Magull, Lohmann Dabritz Lattwein(???)

    FWD Buhl, Brand, Schuller Popp, Freigang Huth Wassmuth

    missing is Hegering, but she keeps getting injured. Otherwise if she might get chosen if Lattwein’s not back(though that be a shame not to give the final spot to Hagel, Linder, Minge)

    :unsure: You say this like we haven't witnessed MVT waste a year trying to convert Nüsken into CB, force Anyomi into a RB role, or needlessly deploy her best striker (Popp) in a CM/DM position...:speechless:

    MVT having a strong pool of players to select from, hasn't demonstrated any long term qualities as a international coach to provide anyone with genuine confidence to the supposed elite nature of her coaching...:cautious:

    The fact Gwinn is in your team, without her having played a single minute of football for her club/country since October last year, should ring major alarm bells lol.

    Again... the thought of this team going to a WC without Hegering and Gwinn...:eek:; with there being no doubt in my mind that Linder is the only good option MVT has given herself right now to replace the loss of Gwinn.

    The fact remains though, MVT still has NOBODY to replace the potential loss of the experience/composure Hegering provides her team.

    I mean... hoping Nüsken magically evolves from an error machine into a world class international CB/CD over the next few weeks... yeah... that's not a real positive headed into a WC...:cautious:

    then again Hegering could very well initially make the roster, she’s always been an favorite of MVT. And if she can’t handle the -what you would think- intense, boot camp like training sessions, then she can always be switched for someone else before the WC starts. Same thing applies to Gwinn & Lattwein(as we don’t the fitness status of all three, until the big announcement tomorrow).
    @Lohmann how many players are allowed to be replaced before the WC after the official roster is given out?—-and any official date limit(before the start of the WC) given as up to when they can be replaced?

    I didn't find information about this World Cup but usually you can replace players until 24 hours before the first game of your team.

    Frohms Berger, Johannes, Mah…..(best left alone)

    so taking it more than 23 players will be initially making the squad today

    When will it be reduced down to 23?

    Batfink will be happy that you accepted that Dallmann is not a big name.:)

    After the game against Zambia on 7th July it will be reduced to 23.

    We already knew Dallmann wasn’t going to recover on time, Gwinn was the real question mark

    MVT still taking on players that missed the last few weeks/months due to injuries in Hegering, Lattwein, Krumbiegel

    and way too many goalkeepers like the barely played Kassen

    They will them release them on 23rd June. The game against Vietnam is on 24th June.
